Just back from a great three nights at 38 Bath Street.
The appartments was great. Very spacious, beautifully decorated and well appointed. We only booked one bedroom so the second bedroom and bathroom were locked but I assume they would have been decorated to the same high standard. As an aside, its good being able to book just one room and therefore get a cheaper rate rater rather than all or nothing!
We found the bed and sofas to be very comfy and everything we needed was on hand.
We did find the flat to be a little warm in the evenings so slept with the window open.In spite of being in the city centre, we found that there was very little noise even on Saturday night. That being said, our bedroom faced onto a central well, so rooms on the outside of the building may suffer from noise. However, the city centre is not the place to go if you want peace and quiet!
The location of 38 Bath Street is fantastic. You are about 30 seconds from the top of Buchanan Street and the Buchanan Galleries so it is a great spot for a shopping trip. Also at the the top of buchanan street is the entrance to the Underground and there is a taxi rant just round the corner on Renfield street so transpot to and from the flat is dead easy.
If you do take you car and go for the option of the parking voucher I would suggest leaving the car where it is for the duration of the stay, the car park they recomend is very secure and very clean and smart. Glasgow is not the easiest city to drive around if you d0ont know where you are going. And thats comeing from someone who grew up there!! It is also worth noting that the carpark is a bit of a walk up a hill on Bath street and getting back round to the flat can be a little confusing. More importanlty the discount voucher! Make sure you get one as it gives 50% off your parking which is £19.50 per 24 hours!
However, the voucher you get from the appartments can only be used ONCE! We discovered this when we tried to leave and had to pay the full fee at the carpark. This is not made clear in any of the literature but I got the impression that they would issue additional cards.
All in all, it was a great place to stay and we would defiantely go back and would recomend it.
