“Close to Glasgow, friendly and peaceful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

This B & B is very peaceful with a lovely outlook back toward Glasgow. The garden is very pleasant to sit out in and enjoy the view. Hosts were just lovely and the breakfast was outstanding. The only way our stay could have been better would have been to have our own bathroom so try to get the room with the en suite. We booked three rooms and all were very comfortable. The conservatory is a lovely little place to sit and read if weather turns etc. Highly recommended and excellent pubs not far away and also Glasgow by car or train.

Room Tip: Try and get en suite room if you prefer.

“Excellent B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

A spotless B&B and we had a lovely large ensuite room, with a shower room, tea/coffee making facilities and a 40 inch flat screen tv!

Irene and Colin were excellent hosts proving very helpful to us and they provided a lovely breakfast in their farmhouse kitchen. Their property which had excellent views over the countryside was not far from Glasgow (we went in by train about 15/20 minutes) and also near Loch Lomond and the Trossachs the other way.

We really enjoyed it and if we are passing again, I know where we will head for!!

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

We stayed at the Tambowie Farm B&B for three nights several weeks ago, and just loved our stay there. It was a B&B that could accommodate 9 of us, as we were meeting up with extended family at that time, and we were comfortably able to enjoy four of the rooms in this lovely B&B. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated with picturesque views of the green hills and sheep in the neighboring farm. The garden was beautifully landscaped and there was a sun room, or back porch area, that overlooked the garden, with a glimpse of Glasgow in the distance. The breakfasts were delicious and Irene and Colin were very helpful and gracious. Irene was able to arrange a taxi for us at the last moment, to take us home from a late night at the Edinburgh Tattoo, when we decided to take the train into the city rather than drive. She had even lent us a mobile/cell phone when we needed it, so that we could contact our taxi driver after the show. She was patient with all my questions with directions and places to park when we did drive into the city, and she promptly responded to all of my emails when planning our trip.

The B&B is located about a half hour from the international airport in Glasgow and it is located a couple of miles from the train station in Milngavie (which we learned was pronounced Milgi!). Milngavie is a small suburb of Glasgow, with everything from a bank/ATM, a Marks & Spencer’s, a great Indian restaurant and a nice pub at the Cross Keys where we had several great dinners. I highly recommend a stay at Tambowie and we hope very much to return for a stay again, on our next trip to Scotland.

Room Tip: All the rooms were lovely. We happened to be in the room on the 2nd floor with the private bathroom...

“Very nice B&B - but far away from Glasgow”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

Tambowie farm is a great B&B but a bit far from Glasgow. Some roads were diverted when we were driving to tambowie as a result took us a lot of time to get to the place - the GPS also did not recognize the place. But once we got there, we were delighted to see the place - the views from the room are amazing - the room is huge, very comfortable and well stocked up. Hosts are very nice and kind, breakfast is good.

Would recommend it highly but for the fact that getting there can be a bit of an issue.

“A really lovely B&B experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2011

I stayed at Tambowie for one night prior to setting off to walk the West Highland and Great Glen Ways. Although I was travelling solo I booked a double room with ensuite.

The property is immaculate and I had a lovely spacious double room - it felt more like a hotel suite. The room was on the 1st floor, was well decorated and had a view out to Dumgoyne on the trail that I would walk the following day.

The bed was very comfortable.

Breakfast was very good and I think that Irene and Colin, my hosts wanted to feed me more than I felt inclined - they were generous.

If on foot keep in mind that Tambowie is outside Milngavie and NOT on the West Highland Way. I took a taxi to get there initially and from memory it was about 5 pounds sterling. Colin then dropped me into Milngavie in the evening when I wanted to go to get a meal. He also kindly dropped me back into Milngavie the next morning to start my journey.
