We stayed at the Tambowie Farm B&B for three nights several weeks ago, and just loved our stay there. It was a B&B that could accommodate 9 of us, as we were meeting up with extended family at that time, and we were comfortably able to enjoy four of the rooms in this lovely B&B. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated with picturesque views of the green hills and sheep in the neighboring farm. The garden was beautifully landscaped and there was a sun room, or back porch area, that overlooked the garden, with a glimpse of Glasgow in the distance. The breakfasts were delicious and Irene and Colin were very helpful and gracious. Irene was able to arrange a taxi for us at the last moment, to take us home from a late night at the Edinburgh Tattoo, when we decided to take the train into the city rather than drive. She had even lent us a mobile/cell phone when we needed it, so that we could contact our taxi driver after the show. She was patient with all my questions with directions and places to park when we did drive into the city, and she promptly responded to all of my emails when planning our trip.
The B&B is located about a half hour from the international airport in Glasgow and it is located a couple of miles from the train station in Milngavie (which we learned was pronounced Milgi!). Milngavie is a small suburb of Glasgow, with everything from a bank/ATM, a Marks & Spencer’s, a great Indian restaurant and a nice pub at the Cross Keys where we had several great dinners. I highly recommend a stay at Tambowie and we hope very much to return for a stay again, on our next trip to Scotland.
Room Tip: All the rooms were lovely. We happened to be in the room on the 2nd floor with the private bathroom...
