Booked in to stay for New Years Hogmany dinner gala ball.Arrived at hotel and went into our room.Room was ice cold not even a heater on!Room did not look anything like on website, there was a throw over the bed which had stains on it,windows had black around them.On entering bathroom the shower curtain was filthy!Once room had heated i decided to have a shower,no hot water!.Partner went to reception where there were several people complaining and was told the hotel boiler cant take everyone in hotel having baths and should be hot soon but it wasnt!
Went for dinner it was 5 course meal for £52.00 with champagne arrival and canapes.Well no one approached us so we got our own champagne and we got 1 canape. It was haggis to start which was nice but could have been hotter,we then waited for our cream of veg soup with parsnip crisps, could smell burning in the function room the soup arrived,it had no cream and no crisps.Main course was nice, thank god and so was desert.Coffee and tablet was next,no tablet arrived and never got offered the mulled wine and mince pies were ment 2 be hot but were not.Complained in the morning and got a good will gesture to stay in one of there sister hotels but then everyone got this. This was our first new year in a hotel and although this didnt ruin our night,if you dont do this often then it can be very disappointing. The function room where we ate was set up lovely but im afraid the hotel badly needs done up.
