“Good location, great staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We stayed 4 nights for the Davis Cup. On arrival we asked for a quiet room since we were staying a while. We had a great room at the back on the 6th floor. Whole hotel clean and modern. Staff friendly, helpful and polite. Excellent central location for restaurants, shops, museums, theatres, cinema etc and 10 mins from Buchanan Street Bus Station for buses to Braehead and easy route for return. Breakfast a bit expensive, although very good and convenient, with option of different eggs to order eg poached. So, opted to eat at Braehead after first day. Nice bar area. Look forward to a return visit (even just to enjoy Glasgow). Digital TV with lots of choice. Wifi which we didn't use. Fresh towels if used ones left on the bath. We forgot one day and fresh ones arrived about 20 mins after request in the evening.

Room Tip: Our room was high up at the back 6th floor facing onto a park/old cemetery and apartments some dista...

“Nice city centre hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We stayed here on a Saturday night for a night out in the city. The hotel is centrally located and was within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go.

The hotel does not have a carpark but there is an ncp carpark directly across the road. The parking costs £22 for 24 hours but Premier Inn guests get a 15% discount. Make sure you let reception know and they will scan your parking chip to ensure you get your discount.

The check in process was quick and easy even though they were very busy. We had a good sized room which was clean and had a large comfortable bed.

Breakfast cost £7.99 per person and there was plenty of choice for everyone.

Overall we had a good stay and I would definitely go back.

“Second visit and review”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We previously stayed here in 2005, and would not hesitate to return in the future. My wife arrived early afternoon and the receptionist assisted her with the new check in procedure, they are happy to help. We had a room overlooking the back this time, but there was still some late night noise, not overly problematic for us. The room was a good size , nicely decorated, decent television and very comfortable bed.
We had breakfast both mornings of our stay and at £8 we thought it was very good in quality and value, buffet style with serve yourself costa coffee.
We returned after dinner at the nearby Italian centre and decided to have a bottle of wine in the bar , before retiring. They do not however have any ice buckets. A member of staff suggested that ice buckets had a habit of disappearing, I`d suggest they find a solution.
We had booked one of our nights at sale price £29 and the other at £62 , which is normally a flexible rate. Be warned , however, that any sale price in your booking cancels all flexibility.
Having said that we still find this premier Inn to be very good value , well located, and comfortable.

“Great value for money - ideal location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I visit this hotel once a year since 2006 for it's ideal location (it is situated at the heart of the city) and the good night sleep. Overall I don't have any complaints from my previous stays, this time there were a couple of things that really annoyed me:
- The electronic check in is convenient and easy however I really dislike to be served by machines, I believe that the human contact is irreplaceable.
- The hotel start showing its age and I think it needs to be refurbished soon
- My luggage was lost from the airline and it was necessary to be immediately informed when this would be received from a member of staff. Nobody informed me about it - they probably didn't bother.
- I've asked for a late bus service to Glasgow Int. Airport and the member of staff at the reception told me that there was no such bus and that I would have to call a taxi from the hotel. This was probably the event that irritated most since I visit Glasgow once a year and I was sure that there is a late bus service. I confirmed that from the Tourist Information Office in George Sq. I suspect that the member of staff is taking commission from the taxi company...
- If you try the hotel's breakfast is average and rather boring, but good value though and enough to start a long difficult day.

Overall I would gladly stay there, there are some details like the one's above that could be improved.
