Booked as a ‘mystery hotel’ through one of the well known hotel websites. And for the price it was a decent prize. If it were a village fete bottle stall it wouldn’t be the 15 year old malt, nor the 5 years out of date bottle of Worcestershire sauce (does Worcestershire sauce ever go off?), but something in between.
Décor was a bit try-hard boutique style, and looked a little dated already even though a new property. Reception staff were charming and friendly, the bar looked a little unoccupied for a Thursday night. Location of the hotel couldn’t; be faulted a short stroll from the shopping centre and the Central station. Our rate was room early, so we didn’t try the breakfast but found a most excellent café round the corner ‘where the monkey sleeps’ a must for fans of LP covers…
