“Average Hotel, rooms just ok - Not set in the nicest location”

We stay in Glasgow a lot and our hotel of choice is Blythswood Square. On this occasion however, we thought we'd give the Radisson Blu a try. The hotel itself looks pretty impressive, but the location right down at Central Station is not appealing to me. It is pretty rowdy in the surrounding areas (which is fine if you wish to base yourself in the hotel all night). The rooms are adequate for a comfortable nights stay, but I have to say I was not impressed with the bathroom facilities (I have seen better in Premier Inn) Again, we are perhaps spoiled with having enjoyed the sumptious bathroom area in our beloved Blythswsood Square. We dined in the restaurant, which was just ok. We did enjoy our drinks in both the hotel lobby bar and round at Collage Corner Bar. To quickly summarise, I would not return to stay at the Radisson Blu, as there are so many better accommodation options to be had in Glasgow.

“Bit of a mixed bag but service made up for the few shortcomings”

The hotel is located right next to the Central station and very close to the shopping on the Style Mile which was one of the main reasons for our visit.

We had two rooms opposite one another which was handy. One was business the other regular. There was no noticable difference between the two. Its suggested that there are free movies in the business rooms but we found only a few adult channels which went unused, so no very helpful.

The rooms themselves are nice and clean. I would agree with a few other reviewers that it feels more like a good 4-4.5 star but its a decent size.

We drove in and used the valet for parking which was reasonably priced and very helpful.

The materess on one of the beds had become unsprung and dreadfully uncomfortable during the night but they were very speedy in changing the mattress over once advised in the morning (although that didnt help during the night obviously), also offered to swap rooms if we had preferred that.

The breakfast buffet is very efficient and has a good selection of healthy options or a big scottish breakfast.

We had a meal at the restaurant. Packed and lively. Good food. Good menu. We found it relatively cheap given we had a number of coctails, a good bottle of red, and three courses for under 100p.

The open top Glasgow tour bus stops right out front of the hotel and is well worth a look if you're a tourist (as we were on this occasion).

So the bed was a big minus but the service was generally very good and its a nice lively hotel right in the centre. Good visit overall.

“Excellent 5 star experience in the heart of the city.”

We got this hotel as a bargain on Lastminute.com, and we weren't disappointed. We arrived early but the room was ready, and the staff were warm and welcoming. On the first night they brought us a complimentary bottle of wine and some nibbles, which was a nice touch. The room was a great standard, and was at the end of a corridor so was quiet too.

We used the pool and sauna once and they gave us free towels and a lock to keep our things safe.

The location is brilliant and everything is in walking distance. We had some drinks in the bar and the staff were very attentive but not overly so. Good work everyone!

“Great city centre spot to crash”

Stayed here whilst on a business trip to Glasgow in one of the "Business Class" rooms - great set-up with iPod dock, coffee in the room and free wifi. Nice little local touches in the rooms like Subculture posters (local club night) which give the hotel a slightly boutique feel, despite it's scale. Location is bang on for Glasgow Central Station, and you're no more than a 5-10m can ride from any restaurant & bar.
Eggs were a little overdone at brekky, but quickly replaced - can't complain :)

“I loved it”

Stayed here on a recent trip to Glasgow and it was great.

Checked in early without any probelms.

The Corner Suite was huge, but seemed to me to be more of a massive room with a room divider separating the bed from the louge area. The bathroom would have been good for a standard room but I though that for a corner suite it should have been bigger and better - it was missing touches such as a double shower and underfloor heating which at this price I would have expected and for that I'm only rating room and value as "very good"

Had a few drinks in the Corner Bar which had a good atmosphere.

The Breakfast was tip-top. A buffet can be a bit hit or miss but this was one of the best. There was a geat selection of hot and cold from the buffet which was kept well stocked and a fair selection of items to order.
