I stayed for one night as I was in Glasgow for a Celtic Connections concert. It was my first stay at the Alexander Thomson. My room was very clean with a good selection of toiletries and tea/coffee facilities.I also had a friendly welcome at reception. My room ceiling light was out so I just operated the bedside lamp. There was no problem getting access after the concert. The central location was great for walking round the city streets but conversely I was woken several times during the night by a couple having a domestic row outside and some kind of ramp that clunked every time a vehicle passed over it.There was also a large concrete pillar in the middle of my room which I took notice of to avoid seeing stars!! However the breakfast improved my demeanour as it was excellent and the staff were attentive and courteous. The music playing quietly was better than the usual piped garbage! It was also good to check out without feeling pressurised. Despite the hotel looking a little "tired "the fact is I would stay here again as it presented value for money in difficult times and everything was within easy reach.
