“Very comfortable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

My wife and I had 3 seperate blocks of bookings totalling 8 nights, over January & February, at this travelodge in order to attend quite a number of Celtic Connection concerts in Glasgow. We booked the rooms last October. A few weeks later we read all the Tripadvisor reviews and was somewhat concerned about a few of the very offputting ones. Having paid quite a lot of money up front for the tickets/hotel we decided we would have to go in spite of the bad reports.

Checked in for our first nights stay and was instantly reassured by the friendly greeting of the 2 people in reception who also gave us some very useful some local information when asked (very different from what a few of the reviews had said!!). The room itself was just what we wanted - clean, warm, refreshments + what turned out to be a very comfortable bed. Following one of the hotel reviews we did check the bedding and matteress thoroughly and found them all to be 'clean'. During our total of 8 non concecutive nights at the hotel we stayed in 3 different rooms and found them all to be to an acceptable standard.

Upon checking out we were always asked if we'd had a 'pleasant stay' - which we had on all 3 occassions.

My only gripes, which are quite minor, are that the heating (room 188??) was difficult to control and that the pillows were VERY soft (as there were spares this was such a problem).

Would we stay there again - most certainly!!

“It's a sauna, not a hotel !!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Everything you'd expect from a Travelodge and close to the city centre, a Harry Ramsden's for the hungry just next door and no complaints other than the fact that it was impossible to turn the heating down and impossible to open the windows further than 2 inches, so my husband boiled overnight when he was up there on business last week!! Maybe it was just a technical blip, but it made his stay very uncomfortable! Otherwise, a very good Travelodge.

“one of the best.”

This travelodge is one of the best we have stayed in took the family four adults and two children( wewere going to the Irn Brew Carnival) we had two rooms both very clean and very comfortable. The person that checked us in was very helpful told us how to check in the two cars that we were aloud to park free for 24hours gave us more bedding and more tea and coffee for our roooms when we asked, was very helpful when we asked for directions to were we wanted to go. There was lots of information leaflets about were to go at the front desk .When we were ready to leave we were asked if the rooms were alright and if we had enjoyed our night out and our stay at the lodge which we thought was rery nice of him. We would recomend this lodge and definitely stay here again. Perfect for the secc as you went up to the main raod at the traffic lights turned left along to the sqinty bridge down over bridge turn left and along 200 yards and the secc is right in front of you 5minuets in a taxi or 10-15 walking.

Room Tip: Take a good pair of shoes as there are lots to do and see. Better than the city centre lodge as you...

“Great place for the money!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

This place was great for the money having only paid £52 for two nights. After reading the reviews i was slightly worried. Anyway on arrival we checked in no problems. The room was clean as was the bedding and did not smell as others have said. We wanted to use an iron and the lady receptionist said they where all out but with in a few minutes a young man turned up at the door with one. When we was checking out i used the free phone for a taxi but there was no answer as they where busy, so both staff on reception used there mobiles to find us a taxi. The staff was very friendly and helpful when ever we spoke to them.

The car park is free for guests.

Would i stay again? YES!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 105, Was a family room so also had a sofa bed.

“Sweaty smell pervades the whole hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

Staff were friendly and helpful. That was the only positive about this hotel.

It is in shoddy condition - black grout in the shower, old silicone around the sink, a shower curtain that was too small and the shower itself was a dribble.

It smelt of sweat in the corridors and i swear i could smell sweat in my pillow.

In need of a full makeover. Only suitable for stag or hen do's and even then at a push. Will not stay there again.
