My wife and I had 3 seperate blocks of bookings totalling 8 nights, over January & February, at this travelodge in order to attend quite a number of Celtic Connection concerts in Glasgow. We booked the rooms last October. A few weeks later we read all the Tripadvisor reviews and was somewhat concerned about a few of the very offputting ones. Having paid quite a lot of money up front for the tickets/hotel we decided we would have to go in spite of the bad reports.
Checked in for our first nights stay and was instantly reassured by the friendly greeting of the 2 people in reception who also gave us some very useful some local information when asked (very different from what a few of the reviews had said!!). The room itself was just what we wanted - clean, warm, refreshments + what turned out to be a very comfortable bed. Following one of the hotel reviews we did check the bedding and matteress thoroughly and found them all to be 'clean'. During our total of 8 non concecutive nights at the hotel we stayed in 3 different rooms and found them all to be to an acceptable standard.
Upon checking out we were always asked if we'd had a 'pleasant stay' - which we had on all 3 occassions.
My only gripes, which are quite minor, are that the heating (room 188??) was difficult to control and that the pillows were VERY soft (as there were spares this was such a problem).
Would we stay there again - most certainly!!
