Ibis in Europe are usually great. The Glasgow one was definitely not. The carpet in the room was dirty. There was no aircon, only a fan that blew hot air if the outside temp was above a particular level and cold air if it was below. Another time for an open window. The mattress was extremely thin and the bed was pretty much rock hard. The staff were friendly enough but that really didn't make up for an uncomfortable room.

“Good business hotel”

Although I did not choose this hotel as it was pre booked as part of a business course, I had a good 3 night stay from the 31 jan to 3 feb. I was in an accessible room due to mobility problems and there was plenty of space. The bed was comfortable and the room heating easy to use and worked well.

The walkin shower was really nice, plenty of hot water and the shower kept a constant temperature. Room was clean and comfortable and the hotel in general was all very clean.

Night time was quiet and the room I was in was opposite an office building which caused no problems. Breakfast was a buffet style with plenty of choice from cooked items such as sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs etc, plenty of cereal choice, yoghurt, fruit, toast, bread etc. I thought that the range of availability was really good. We had Evening meals included and these were nice. Very hot main courses served as a buffet choice. Two main choices plus veg or potato. I am quite fussy but there was also the choice of a really fresh salad. On one evening, I was able to get a jacket potato as I was not able to eat the main choice options.

All the staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff kept the area and tables very clean. Reception was always manned by helpful staff.

I can't think of any down points other than the fact that there was no on site parking, but as I was personally not driving this was not an issue for me, but I was aware of a few course colleagues who felt that this was a small issue.

All in all, a friendly, comfortable and clean hotel.

“Heart of the action”

We recently wanted budget accommodation for a couple of nights with good walking access to the Sauchiehall Street area. We booked the Ibis Hotel well in advance and got a good rate and were well pleased with its situation, facilities and cleanliness.
