Two tall Victorian houses, well converted into a simple hotel. Everything well cared for, with thick carpets, fresh paint, some nice architectural details. Bedroom and bathroom clean, with somewhere to sit and a dressing table to work at. Free wifi, weak (but adequate) in some parts of the room.
Comfortable mattress and I slept well. Quiet within the hotel; comforting rumble from the Great Western Road through the Victorian wooden shutters and thick curtains. Very well located, next to botanic gardens, very close to the university, metro and bus routes, lots of places to eat.
Not a "destination" hotel for a romantic stay, but a practical and pleasant business or holiday stay at an excellent price. Much more character than modern equivalents.
