Reading through the reviews here, I wonder at some people's perceptions- especially those who have given this a bad review. It is a quaint hotel, not a chain. Position- very convenient for walking to lots of places- Kelvingrove, Botanic Gardens, Byres Road. It has charm and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The tartan carpet and green walls in the hall may not be to everyones taste, but there are lovely features of an old Scottish house, such as stained glass, fireplaces, coving and lovely plates on the doors. The residents lounge is very homely. My room was spacious - cold on arrival, but the radiator was put on straight away (I had arrived very early). Bed was comfy and a lovely teapot for tea in the room. Breakfast is ordered and brought to the room- mine was on time, and the Scottish breakfast was just right. If I had one complaint it would be that the bathroom appeared to be unheated but easily solved by keeping the door to it ajar and so the heat flowed through. The suite is green and old but in good condition.
I suspect all the rooms have different flavours, but I would certainly stop again.
