We booked this hotel last minute for a night in Glasgow for a concert. We were thoroughly impressed with the warm welcome and excellent location. A short walk to Byres Road and a cheap taxi ride to the SECC. Accommodation was basic but adequate and clean. Breakfast was served in the room which was a nice touch. I would definitely recommend The Kirklee and we will be using it again!

We really enjoyed out stay at Kirklee. It is in a residential neighbourhood, but we didn't mind the extra walking through the picturesque homes to get to our destinations. The decor is fun and welcoming and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is served in your room in the morning and there is also a lovely sitting room when you can read, use wifi, etc. We would definitely stay here again, and overall I wish I had budgeted more time to explore Glasgow.

Excellent hotel, which is different... in so many good ways! Well positioned to take advantage of Glasgow`s buzzing west end and the city beyond, its also a very good base for business. I have been there, for business and pleasure... and family and colleagues have raved about the friendliness and enjoyability. Value for money and a great experience every always.......must finally single out the perfect every time quality breakfast served in your room which is a a great way to start your day! Definitely a must try!

We usually stay at a more up to date local hotel but were unable to get booked so decided to take a chance on the Kirklee Hotel. It is a beautiful building with a lovely old stained glass door which leads into a large and very tartan hallway.
The decor in the bedroom could do with some serious updating, the bathroom had an interesting turquoise suite complimented by pink tiles. the fittings on the toilet and the black and white tile effect vinyl floor had seen better days. The curtains and beadspread were at least 20 years old! however the white sheets and towels were very clean.
The guest lounge was very grand, maintaining a georgian elegance in keeping with the building and area. Lots of interesting pictures and bric-a-brac on display. We didn't spend any time in there, its a pity they don't put so much effort into the bedrooms.
The staff we met were very pleasant.
Breakfast is served in the bedroom,which is quite unusual, it was nicely presented, the food was ok and there was plenty to eat, although it could have been a bit hotter.
In the future I think I would prefer to stick to more modern hotels.
