“Excellence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

My wife and I stayed at Number 10 Hotel in Queens Drive, Glasgow on Saturday 4th February, 2012.
The room (No 23) was large and spacious, the bed was very large, (super king size), the en suite was large; no bath only a shower cubicle, which suits us as we prefer to shower.
Everything was spotless clean, full praise to housekeeping.
Breakfast was excellent, well prepared and presented. We were looked after by Barbara and Angie, both lovely ladies and a credit to the hotel, there attention to detail was very impressive, likewise their customer relations skill were beyond believe, many people in catering could learn a lot from them.
Anyone wishing an overnight stay or holding a function of any kind should consider Number 10 they will not be disappointed. Nothing seems to be a problem; they just get on with it in a professional manner and ensure you have a pleasant stay.
Number 10 is privately owned, but would compete with many of the larger company owned hotels we have stayed in.
Cost was £65.00 which nowadays for atmosphere, room quality, staff service, etc. is certainly excellent value for money.
Overall our stay was superb and we certainly will be back.
Well done Number 10, keep up the good work.

“refused breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

warm welcome from staff who telephoned a taxi for me to get to my xmas night out at hampden park very helpful. Room was comfortable and clean and i had a good nights sleep.
However when i went down for breakfast i was refused as i was informed by a member of staff in the dining room they had cleared away and no-one was available to serve me then walked away and left me standing there. Totally disgusted by this, why advertise breakfast times and then clear away 20 minutes early and treat paying guests in this way. When i went to check out informed the receptionist out that i had been refused breakfast even though i was there in plenty of time and as my friend was ill and couldnt make it i had actually paid for 2 breakfasts and hadnt had a thing to eat she was not in the least bit interested and said i had to pay for these meals anyway as this is what i had booked and proceeded to take payment. As a courtesy i would have expected at least not to be charged for something that i did not have through no fault of my own. Take my advice and book room only then go to Asda up the road for a lovely cooked breakfast for less than half the price

Room Tip: book room only or arrive for breakfast at least an hour before finishing time

“Warm welcome”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

Nice welcome and all staff who were on reception over weekend were always very pleasant. Didn't eat in hotel as up visiting relatives, but good base, handy for pubs and eating places and for trains into town. Room was a bit small but fine for us 2, only 1 bedside light which wasn't ideal for reading. Only issue was on 2nd night people in room above us seemed to be holding some sort of gymnastic competition by moving furniture and ?dropping heavy items on the floor, they were noisier than the party night music!
They had party nights both nights we were there but they finished sharp at 12 midnight, good music selection from DJ!

Room Tip: Probably better on top floor or annexe

“staff helpful and apartment suite.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

on arrival we were given an apartment suite in the building next to the hotel, very spacious and warm. Beds are not the comfiest and pillows very small. The staff couldn't have been more helpful but could only get Xmas menu food as the hotel was hosting a big Xmas party. We were just using the hotel as a place to stay after a function elsewhere in the south side so it was fine for what we required. The decor and attention to detail in rooms needs bit more upgrading. Carpets have had their day, especially in main restaurant. Good price for the room and staff were very helpful.

Room Tip: worth paying extra for more room possibly.
