“Ignore all bad comments :)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012 via mobile

Myself and my mum went for afternoon tea which was a groupon offer. We were a bit worried and not too sure what to expect by reading the comments of previous afternoon teas. I have to say it was amazing! We only paid little money for it so did not expect much but it was a fab deal. On arrival we were advised it doesn't open till 12:30 so were offered to wait in the hotel lobby, then at about 25 past, we were taken by the bar man via staff entrance to the tearoom and shown where to sit. We were then given the glass of Rose, and within minutes later the sandwiches, cupcakes, scones and other tasty delights. Soon after we were also given the cocktail menu which had a choice of 5 lovely cocktails on it, included in the price :) overall it was a great experience and I would definitely return it is worth every penny. Staff very helpful and a lovely cosy atmosphere. 9/10 :)

“Decent, convenient hotel in central Glasgow”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Located pretty close to the city centre, within walking distance of most attractions and bus/train stations. A little bit noisy. The comfort and standard of the room gives good value for money - nothing extraordinary, but exceeds expectations price range considered . Good Wi-Fi connection.

Booked this hotel for my 30th Birthday party. Without doubt this is the worst hotel experience we have ever had. At the end of the night we found all my birthday gifts had been stolen from the room offered to us by one of the bar staff. The hotel have taken no responsibility for this happening despite admitting knowing this room was not secure and having nobody at reception for the majority of the night. The hotel were and continue to be disinterested and unprofessional. My party was 4 weeks ago and I am still waiting for a response from the managing director. Their appalling attitude and denying any responsibility for the theft has turned an awful situation into one which is even worse. They ruined my night and I just hope people stay away from this hotel so they do not ruin anybody else's.

“Friendly, cracking cocktails: great find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I met up with my boyfriend who works offshore and we decided Glasgow would be our destination for a night out. Don't get to see him that much so wanted to go somewhere nice :). I came here on the word of mouth from a friend back home and I didn't look at the reviews on Trip Advisor before I came even though I planned to. Glad I didn't as the 3 star rating is NOT reflective of what we got. We had a great time! We stayed on Saturday night passed and we planned to go to ABC or one of the bigger clubs (of our youth :D) after a couple of drinks but we ended spending the whole day/night down there! (Bar/club stays open till 3am). We checked in and reception staff were very nice, offering us free drinks on arrival. Very nice chap with glasses showed us to our room explained everything and offered us a seat later on in the night, explaining there would be live music downstairs. There was a bulb out in one of the lamps but he also fixed that so we were happy. Room was lovely and romantic. (only cost 75)
Later that night we came down and we were seated at our table and given food menus by one of the waitresses who was pleasant and we started on the the cocktails! The lad at the bar was also very nice and friendly. Half way through the night, my bf had a wee fall out with me and was planning on leaving but he met the one of the boys down the stairs, had a beer and he talked him out of leaving and he came back up and apologized haha! Great service. Would recommend a visit.

Room Tip: Our room didnt have a view onto main street, but was quieter than the others because of it!
