Booked in for 2 nights during the Celtic Connections festival and managed to get the room for a bargain £12 a night. The hotel is well located very close to Sauchihall Street and the rest of central Glasgow. There is a car park litterally 30 metres away. It's open 24 hours and seems secure. We parked for 2 nights and it cost us just over £29, which I didn't think was too bad.
Reception is open 24 hours, but it's not exactly manned - we waited for someone to come from the back, but wasn't a long wait.
There is a bar in the hotel but it only opens from 5pm so if you want a drink any earlier - you'll need to head out.
The rooms, as expected, are basic, but none the less, they are clean. My only real complaint was that there was handle attached to the wall above the bath which made showering a rather difficult experience as you were constantly hitting your elbow on it trying to get the shampoo etc. That could do with looking at really.
There was some outside noise early in the morning but that was due to roadworks. You can hear traffic noise if the window is open but they are quite good quality so if you close it over, it's not bad at all.
There is a great chinese restaurant and take away just around the corner - great value too. If you want a cheaper breakfast than the hotel has to offer - there is a chip shop/take away/cafe right across from the front door.
We went on the Glasgow eye - not overly impressed as alot of the buildings are quite high around it, so you don't really see as much as I would have liked.
The one place certainly worth a visit is the Necropolis - it's only a short walk out of the town (about 10 mins max) but is architecture on an amazing scale. The views across Glasgow are also worth it, it's a really beautiful place - even if you're not really into cemetaries!
Glasgow is a great city, it's not too big or small and the people are incredibly friendly. Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to keep you entertained.
Room Tip: Try and avoid the front of the building - can get noisy there.
