What a shame this hotel is. Its location is excellent for the centre of Glasgow and could be so much better. Worn out bare carpets, windows that rattle and the place is just so noisy. To sum up this place in 1 word - dirty!

Stay here for 2 nights in mid Nov. You know that it's an old building, but that's alright, given it's only 40 pounds a night. I was luckily to be given a spacious double room with clean and bright, big toilet. Nice and friendly staffs in the reception. The hot breakfast has scramble egg, bacon, sausage, black budding, mushrooms, baked beans and haggis, which is much better than what i thought. The drawback is that is located directly above the subway, so would be quite noisy until late nite and from the morning.

room was clean but there was a terrible noise,not from outside or the subway nearby but sounded like the water boiler.subway also makes a bit of noise through the night.the breakfast was fantastic though.

Oh Dear. Front desk kept me waiting for quite a while, and they were clearly harassed. I was given my room number, but twhen I got there the room hadn't been serviced at all- the sheets remained unchanged. They sent someone to do that staight away, but whilst I was waiting, in the bar, other guests were trying to get a drink, but the bar would only take cash- no signing to rooms, no cards. Rather restrictive.
The room was 'no frills' , but lacked cleaning- the space between the bed and the bedside table was filthy. No excuse for that!
The window looked out over a condemned building, and razor wire. I kept the curtains shut in preference!
At 5 a.m drilling started somewhere- but this was just a wake up call before the trains started rumbling under the hotel, so no futher sleep possible.
At some point this hotel has been a lovely little place in the absolute heart of the city- incredibly convenient- but goodness, it looks and feels utterly unloved.
