The food was good, people were nice but internet was drama. I regretted i din'nt stay in a hotel where internet is easier available. After several tries with help i was online only once. Internet was very important for me, so i don't think i'll come back and won't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Got to the hotel quite late but the receptionist was still cheerful and welcoming.

Went up to my room in a quaint old lift (the ones where you have to close the gate behind you!) which was rather fun.

My room was okay - clean enough, quiet and had what you expected (although ironing board had to be brought up - which they happily did), but did not measure up to what I had hoped as it was a bit pokey and has seen better days - not very inspiring.

Went down for an evening meal and the Michael Caines restaurant was a 'funky' basement place, but was almost empty - however the service was excellent and the food equally so.

I did some work back in my room but after I finished I needed to escape and so I had a drink or two in the bar - the barman was very friendly and made the evening memorable by recommending one or two unusual cocktails.

Overall would stay again so long as I just use the bedroom as somewhere to sleep.

Location - 5/5 city centre
Facilities - 3/5 no minibar in room, no complimentary water, but has "Michael Caine" restaurant. Has free Internet but you need a laptop with LAN cable port so no wifi (unless you are at lobby area)
Cleanliness - 1/5 bathroom very dirty. Cracked floor tiles, moldy bathroom, paint flaking off
Bedroom - 3/5 mattress too soft for me, cheap/no frills furniture, TV system very basic

Top tip - book a room not facing the main road if you want to get some sleep. Too many drunken lads shouting all night as there is a pub next door. Newspaper is not complimentary so expect a nasty surprise during check out.

Overall - this is better than Travelodge etc., but it's certainly not somewhere you take your missus for a weekend.

I am a business user who spends many nights in Glasgow. This hotel appeared on our approved list so i gave it a try - what a disappointment. Arrived at 10pm to a less than friendly welcome from the receptionist. Given a 3rd room (312) which was disgusting. Mould around the bath/shower, sink taps that were not fixed properly, sink plug mechanism broken, no iron board/iron in the room. Internet access was via a cable from the behind the television which had to be run across the room to the desk - a health & safety hazard if ever there was one. The noise was unbearable and overall i would not recommend this hotel. The only saving grace was the breakfast which was excellent aside from my server having very bad body odour (BO). A experience to be forgotten. I would have given my feedback on checkout but the reception was busy, understaffed and i gave up waiting.
