The building looks the part externally and internally and location is great. There is no reason to disbelief any of the other excellent reviews on this site and overall I had no real problems. Bearing in mind we paid £170 B and B per night, for a couple of nights I will only make comment on a few practicalities.
Parking - a five star hotel with no guaranteed parking outside, charging "from £27.50" to valet park. Car Park is close by, park it yourself for half the cost, it seems that's what they want anyway.
Dining - tried to book a table for two, a week in advance, for a Saturday night. The best they could offer was 10pm. Better off at Two Fat Ladies or Chardon D'Or both within a hundred mtrs.
Breakfast - Not buffet breakfast but not freshly cooked either. OK, but definitely not five star.
Concierge - No-one at the door to help up the front steps with cases nor anyone to show us to the room. (8pm Friday night)
Spa - Guests are charged an extra £20 for use of the hotels basic spa facilities (steam room, sauna etc.) during the day. Most five star and lesser hotels have these facilities inclusive for guests.
Again I must say we had a good experience, but 5 star...almost.
Room Tip: Room 314 courtyard had a low level drone, either next doors A/C or water pipes...not sure.
