“GOOD ENOUGH”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

My husband & I stayed here last weekend, the room was very spacious, lovely ensuite, very clean! We also got clean towels on the saturday;-) The staff at reception were very helpful check-in wasnt until 2pm & we had arrived at before 1pm & the receptionist said our room was ready, no problems..
The breakfast was good enough, with a great variety& plenty! although no boiled or fried eggs! just scrambled.
On check out the staff took our cases & came them for us behind reception, again not a problem for them, & explained where we would get the bus to take us back to the airport, nothing was to much of a problem.
My only complaintant well its not even a complaint was there was no place you could get a drink even off coffee, coke so sit & relax, yes there was a residents lounge & maybe you could order from reception i dont know nor did we ask, but it wasnt in info in room.
If in Glasgow again YES i WOULD STAY as its very close to everything, all within walking distance!

Room Tip: We were in room 002 very spacious & it was beside Breakfast room although one of the mornings i...

“A mixed bag...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I spent one night in the Best Western Glasgow City Hotel and there are a few positive and a few quite negative aspects.

Positive:
- very friendly service at the check-in desk
- lovely decent-sized room
- room and bathroom spotless

Negative:
- the radiator did not work. I tried turning the knob in either direction, waited, nothing. Ice cold.
- the heated towel rail in the bathroom did not work. It was too cold in the morning for me to take a shower and that says a lot!
- the window was quite old and I had to stack a few pillows against it to stop the drafts!

“Not upmarket but ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Hotel is close to charing cross rail station, and to the shopping / restaurant areas. Friendly and professional staff. Nice breakfast. Reasonably priced.
The room was small but as I was travelling alone that was ok - a problem was the very low light levels - I found it too dark to read a newspaper even with all the lights on. Window was too high to see out of. Nice bathroom but the fan was noisy and one of the taps was not secured so swivelled on its mount each time I used it.

“Could have been better stayed here before and has always been good but slipped back this time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Requested to be booked in here by my company as I have stayed here before on a number of occasions.I have always been pleased and my expectations were always over achieved by this hotel. This time however not so good, no drinking water in room tv not working because of no reception on ariel no biscuits nice welcome from reception though. Well worth the stay but not a good deal in a single room. Right next to reception quite noisy.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front lower floor are the best

“I was very happy with my stay at this cheap hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

The hotel is in a good location, 10-15 minutes walk into the centre of Glasgow and also just off the M8 (far enough away that the noise doesn't make an impact) that you can get to the airport or outside of Glasgow with ease.

The staff were always friendly and helpful and the breakfast was nice with a good selection. my only negative would be the eggs - but I'm very particular about scrambled eggs.

The rooms are of a good standard, clean and with everything you would expect. I know some of the rooms are small but I asked for a larger room and they were able to accommodate this which was great.

Overall I am more than happy to recommend this hotel, my stay there was very pleasant.

Dear Review,
Thank you for taking time to comment about the hotel.
On behalf of our entire team, I would like to thank you for your positive comments about the hotel.
I’m glad to hear that you found the hotel in a suitable location for your needs. As for the breakfast scrambled eggs we do offer an alternative of fried, poached or boiled egg which are prepared to order. We are also continuously training our staff on giving the best customer care with the aim of exceeding our guest’s expectations. I hope we will have the pleasure of having you back at the hotel in the near future.

Best Wishes
