“Cheap & Quite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

My wifw & i booked the place for a w/end in Glasgow for its location, (Perfect) for shoping and all bars Etc. Nice cooked Breakfast and you get more if you want just ask. We had room 8 which has its own shower & flat screen Tv. We really only used it for sleeping as went spent most of time in the Centre. Taxis were cheap enough when we used them on 2 occasions due to weather. Staff were helpful and would always speak to You. All in all cheap & cheerful and very Quite. Would stay here again. Price was perfect for our 3 night stay.

Room Tip: Book ensuite

“Great location and a brilliant price”

Two nights accommodation with cooked breakfast for £75, for a single ensuite was a great find for this centrally located B&B.

Staff friendly and helpful. They allowed me to store luggage for the day I was leaving so I could continue looking around Glasgow. Very clean budget hotel. Always a hot shower.

About a ten minutes walk to George's Square. Good location. Tesco's two minutes walk away to pick up small items.

Note: There are stairs to most rooms, stairs from the pavement to the front door, and stairs to the breakfast room. Not suitable for wheelchairs, or those who can not cope with stairs.

“Great B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2011

Alba Lodge is the perfect place to stay if you're looking for a central location. Walking distance to the main square where you can also catch tours to the highlands (highly recommended) The room is very simple, but has a tv, clean bathroom, and a comfortable bed. Everything in the room was very clean, and the owners do take good care of it.
The owners were extremely friendly, checked us into our room early, called a cab for us and gave us any information we needed. Free breakfast was offered, we never made it to breakfast but it was a nice option to have. You definitely get more than you pay for!

Room Tip: Perfect location, great value for your money

“Bed on a budget”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 June 2011

This was one of the cheapest B&Bs we could find in central Glasgow and it is minutes away from everything. We were greeted warmly throughout our 3 day stay as the reception is manned 24/7.

This is a budget B&B so we weren't expecting much so were pleasantly surprised. The bathroom was clean and fairly modern, we had a tv, small tea making facility and there was ample storage.

My only recommendations for the B&B to make this an even better experience would be replacing the bed sheets as ours had numerous cigarette burns in and giving out an extra set of pillows, even if only kept in a cupboard, as each person only received one very small pillow.

Overall an enjoyable stay and we would be happy to return.

Ps. Check whether your room has private or shared bathroom facilities at the time of booking to avoid any shocks upon arrival.

“A good place to stay to see the city”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2011

We stayed at Alba Lodge at the end of a trip touring Scotland by train. Alba Lodge is well situated in the city centre near to the School of Art. It was the cheapest B&B that we stayed at on the trip and I think was good value for money. The room was clean and comfortable and there was a very good ensuite shower room and a TV. It was provided with soap but not the shower gels and shampoos etc that we had in other B&Bs. Breakfast was good but with a small range of cereals to choose from. The staff were very friendly. Definitely worth considering if you are on a tight budget and I would stay there again if visiting Glasgow overnight or for the week-end.
