Stayed here to get my daughter settled at University of St Andrews. Good hot breakfast in downstairs dining room with other guests, tea/coffee and biscuits (cookies) in room, along with small refrigerator. Bill very helpful and friendly, stored extra bags for us without complaint rather than making us take them to our room, always ready with suggestions or to order cab, help with luggage. Let me leave my luggage there between checkout and late cab ride to train station, which was very helpful and not something everyone would do.
Nicely decorated, good sized room with lots of light. En-suite bathroom small by American standards (we're spoiled), but everywhere very clean and bright. If stairs are a problem, be sure to mention when booking room--we were on top floor, the climb was good for me, but I huffed and puffed a few times, especially after the large breakfast!
I rarely saw other guests except at breakfast, so if you are looking to socialize with new people, this may not be the place for you. Or if you need large American style bathroom.
But I like B&Bs, and would stay here again without question. Excellent location, 1-2 blocks to Old Course, The Scores (waterfront) and North Street. Easy walking anywhere in town. Murray Place is charming, full of B&Bs, lots of attractive signs and window boxes.
