“Fantastic B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2011

We stayed here in August for a wedding, the location was great, just a short walk to the beach and the Old Course, car parking also just around the corner. The host was very friendly, we were able to check-in early so that we could drop off our bags and get ready for the wedding. They were also helpful in calling for a taxi to take us to the wedding.
We had the master deluxe king size double room which was fantastic and really big, loved the decor, huge comfortable bed, double doors into the bathroom, freestanding bath, very nice, quiet location.
Unfortunately due to the late night at the wedding we didn't make it down for breakfast so can't comment :o(
We would definately recommend and would love to come back here for a nice romantic weekend!

This is the best B&B we had in Scotland, rooms were nice and comfortables. Staff was very helpful. We definitely recommend this place to stay in St. Andrews.

“Should be upgraded to a 5* B&B.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2010

As we were married in St Andrews many years ago we decided to go back again but not to a hotel but to this stunning B&B. The hotels do not even come near to the standards of 5 Pilmour Place. Jackie & Norman are fantastic hosts with a spotless establishment (seeing as I'm a wee bit OCD, I know what I'm talking about). Room, food and hosts were excellent. 2 mins walk from St Andrews town and from thee best beach. I have recommended this beautiful B&B to a lot of friends and will continue to do so.

“Really nice find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2010

This is a lovely guest house close to the heart of St Andrews. I had a single deluxe room, which had a double bed and en-suite. Lots of nice touches with speciality tea, flat screen telly and lovely decor. Breakfast choices and quality excellent. Owner friendly and helpful without overdoing it, just right. Only slight problem, bed a little harder than I think most people would prefer, and some noise from the plumbing! Recommend for short stay in this size of room as fairly restricted for space. IWifi availability and connectivity excellent.

“Fantastic Guest House with Fantastic Hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 April 2010

We visited this guest house on 24rd and 25th April. We were meant to be in Furteventura but our holiday was cancelled due to volcanic ash!!!

We had passed this place before when in St Andrews and wanted something a bit different to chain hotels that rip you off in the area.

On arrival at the B&B Jackie greeted us and was first class. She remembered why we were there and not in Furteventura and gave us a quick run down of the area and showed us to our room.

The room was on the top floor and had modern decoration with modern furniture which was tastefully blended with the traditional features of the property and it was completely spotless. The room had a nice smell as did the hotel and the whole place is clearly looked after by the owners.

The bathroom had a large bath and good shower. Again spotless in this part of the room.

We had a great sleep in our king size bed and were woken to the smell of the kitchen in full operation....The breakfast tasted as good as the smell....At breakfast Norman chatted away to us and gave us suggestions of a few things to do with our day. Breakfast is buffet style cereal and yoghurts etc along with a breakfast of your choice. A perfect cooked breakfast or bagel with salmon and cream cheese being a couple of the options....You could basically ask for anything you liked and they would have made it for you.

We sat in the lounge area both days watching tv and reading the newspapers and chatting with Norman the owner on our last day. The place is truly, absolutely spotless and has a perfect ambience for relaxing or for taking in all of the sights and golf that St Andrews has to offer.

Having not visited a guest house for a number of years we were unsure what to expect. We will definitely go back here. We love St Andrews and we have found a perfect place to chill out with the perfect hosts to match. This place is a must to stay whilst in St Andrews and a cut above the larger hotels in the area.
