The Albany is very conveniently located in the centre of St Andrews. The food is very good and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Much recommended.

As mentioned in another post, we, too, were in from the States to leave our son for his first year at the University. The location of Albany Hotel was perfect. Sean and the staff were extremely accommodating and pleasant. It's always a nice touch to be greeted 'by name' when entering/exiting the hotel! The rooms were neat and clean and service was spot on. Breakfast was fantastic!! We will choose Albany Hotel for our next visit!!!

In from the States to leave our daughter for her first year at "the U" with much trepedation. Sean and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating, welcoming and understanding of my and my wife's situation. "Local kowledge" was spot on, Scottish breakfast was perfect, and adult beverages in the den were exactly what was needed after a stressful day of driving the rental on the wrong side of the road from the wrong side of the car. Met some great people in the den as well. We'll be back for sure (unless daughter flunks out 1st semester).

We walked into the hotel because our car had a flat outside, asking to use the phone. Instead, the hotel manager and staff immediately took over helping us make the calls, giving our kids treats and simply being nice and understanding given our troubles. We soon learned that fixing it was going to take till late at night and perhaps only the next morning, so we were not going to make it to our reserved hotel near Loch Lemond. The hotel manager heard us discussing our problems and offered us a room for the night, no charge, just to help us out...we insisted on paying but he would not hear of it,...they then took over dealing with the rental company and sent us to a nice restaurant to eat dinner...the next morning the rental company fixed our car and despite our attempts to pay for the room the management would not hear of it...

What can we say, they were just so nice, hospitable, and understanding. And the room they gave us was fantastic, TVs, great beds...the whole experience is perhaps what we will remember the most about scotland...the amazing hospitality of its people.

This hotel is FANTASTIC.
