If you are on a golf trip and are looking for a great central location in the town of St. Andrews, want great food and enjoy talking about golf - THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY!!! It is only a 100+ yards from the 18th green of the Old Course - the food is incredible with a great variety (burgers/steaks/fish/pasta) and the place is always packed with fellow golfers talking about the game / their rounds and various golf stories. Also - a great selection of beers on tap! By far the best owners I worked with when I set up this dream golf trip in May 2010 (13 rounds/10 days) to Scotland. Rooms are very clean and actually quite large as compared to others B & B's. You will be extremely happy if you make your hotel choice at the Dunvegan!!! Mike

The Dunvegan Hotel is a paradise for golfers but staying there with your non-golfing spouse will not be as special. If you are golfers, the star rating goes up one notch.

For the golfer, the Dunvegan Hotel is only a chip shot away from the St. Andrews golf links. For the non-golfer, it is conveniently located only a few minutes walk from the downtown.

Our room was very spacious with enough hangers in the closet to accomodate a changes of clothes at each hole. The water pressure in showers could blast any amount of sweat and sand accumulated during a day of hacking out of pot bunkers.

A room over the bar will be noisy if there is a golf event being broadcast from the United States. The time shift to North America ensures you will be hearing the drama late into the night. Should you then require an early morning breakfast due to an early tee time, the staff is very accomodating.

Second trip to the home of golf, second time staying in the Dunvegan Hotel. The location is unbeatable, just around the corner from the 1st tee of the Old Course but Jack and Sheena are the real hilights here, couldn't ask for better hosts. The hotel is small but the personality is large. The bar is full with locals and golfers but always a place to sit and grab a pint or a wee dram. The rooms are of standard size but the shower fixtures are wondeful (think plate size shower heads). Will go back in a heart beat!
