We found the st andrews tourist hostel to have filthy bed linen (hair, dust and flakes of who-knows-what) , which we were expected to feel comfortable about sleeping in by lying on top of it in a sleeping bag liner. the toilets and showers are shared sex, which call me a prude but i prefer to shower with my own sex- it makes it all a bit more comfortable. Anyway, as they were so filthy (old razors, manky towels, hair) i passed on the shower option. and who still has cloth towles in their loos in shared facilities? arent paper towels/hand dryers more appropriate?
Not worth a visit-although it is cheap if things are really tight-until they've modernised the place a bit.
ps not wheelcahir accessible either.
