Have been a guest of Rusacks four or five times now and am in the final stages of planning a special golfing trip with buddies - so I thought I'd recommend it.. The fact that it has a special location with amazing views of The Old (eg early morning when the greenkeepers are cutting the fairways in convoy) well appointed rooms and great service makes it an easy choice. All of the 'centre' of St Andrews is within pleasant walking distance. Breakfast can be an epic meal if you want it to be, the bar has been recently refurbished and is quite chic/urban (and serves food too) and Roccas has always provided great food, service and an impressive wine & champagne list. Rocca's owner is a petrolhead! Reception staff have always been friendly and professional, there is a golf organiser who's great and the GM is accessible too -and a keen golfer! It's the overall feeling of friendliness/service ethic which makes the hotel a winner for me!

The hotel is first off in an excellent location on the old course but also walk able to the heart of the town which was extremely convenient. The hotels public spaces were fine but the rooms are terribly dated most notably the bathroom. A lot of shabbiness. Good value but not the best service, cleanliness or comfort.

This hotel sits on the 17th hole at the Old course St Andrews. its a nice 4 star golfing hotel and a short stroll your on the beach famous for "Charriots of Fire".

This hotel boasts a nice lounge/bar with lovely sofas overlooking the course, nice restauants with prime views.

The majority of rooms overlooking the course especially room 326 with corner view, french doors and 2 double beds with a chaise longe perfect for those lazy days.

As someone who masquerades as a golfer, the opportunity to spend sometime meandering in the footsteps on the greats on the various links in and around St Andrews was a chance I wasn't prepared to pass up.

As we were a party of 4, the democratic decision was to stay at the Rusacks, we had on our previous golf trip in North Berwick stayed at The Marine, which is another MacDonald hotel.

The hotel's proximity to the Old Course being the clincher. The hotel was part of a package which allowed us to play on 3 on the Links trust's golf courses,one of which would be the Old Course itself.

We spent 3 nights at the hotel, we didn't have a room with a view, more's the pity. The views at dinner more than made up for it.

We found most things to our liking, we dined at The Rocca each evening and availed ourselves of the bars within the hotel.

My request, prior to arrival for a firm mattress and a bed-board were provided. The staff were welcoming, we experienced no issues during our stay.
