“Very happy to recommend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2011

This is the 2nd time I have stayed here for a week at a time - the previous time being a year previously. In a nutshell, this is a good, clean and (most of all) friendly and welcoming hotel. I love the food and the cosy bar and really like the staff. You will feel at home here and very comfortable.

Be advised that it is next to a small club so if staying on a Thursday night (student night) you might want to ask for a room on the side of the hotel that overlooks the government buildings and not the car park as the youngsters can be a bit noisy when they leave at 2am.

“Staff talking publicly about smear tests.....”

Large family get together meal for a visiting relative. Quiet Sunday night and we were the only diners in the bar/restaurant.

We were seated 30mins late and when eventually ordering, no leaway was given on accompanying sides (mash instead of boiled potato, chunky instead of regular chips etc both of which were available with other dishes)

My mussels were clearly cooked from frozen produce, super salty and tiny! Local fishmongers do a hefty starter portion for £3/5 easily!

Main was Halibut on Asparagus - which was pan fried so much it had the consistency of a sponge!

Overall, there's a Domino's round the corner - dint waste your time and money!

“Great Friendly Helpful Staff..Spotless Hotel..best in Kirkcaldy.”

I would highly recommend this hotel and as a local say it is probably the best establishment of its kind in Kirkcaldy. The hotel is small with only 20 rooms but charming. The staff are approachable, helpful and friendly. The food is good , very reasonably priced and the evening menu has a varied choice. Cooked breakfast is made to order..(no precooked buffet style congealed efforts here).
The double bedroom I had was very spacious (Rm 3) with a sofa & flatscreen TV. Decor bit chintzy but immaculate. Tea facilities with nice selection of biccies & bottled water included. Bathroom with bath & shower over. All totally spotless.
Lots of free parking at rear of hotel. Centrally located , close to railway station.

“Good, clean hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2010

I stayed for one night at The Victoria hotel and actually quite enjoyed it. The value for money is actually rather good and the room was clean and tidy.

This is not a 4 star hotel but certainly would recommend it as a place to spend a few nights comfortably at a good rate.

Friends in the area also mentioned they do a wicked bar lunch during the day so next time I will try that too, the breakfast was a cracker so I am sure they aren't wrong in the lunch recommendation.

“Good Quality Small Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2010

Well fitted out and quite spacious single room. Overpriced as my visit coincided with the Golf Open at nearby St Andrews. I paid almost double the usual rack rate for my one night stay.
Other than the price everything was quite acceptable. Pleasant staff. Clean linen and excellent breakfast selection.
