“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2010

A bus load of people from N Ireland stayed here in Aug 2004 it was absolutely delightful the food was second to none nothing to much trouble for the staff .Returning late one night from attending the Edinburgh tattoo we found ourselves locked out Michael got out of his bed and drove some distance to let us in we still talk about what a great friendly place it was to stay to this day

“Married at the Belvedere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2009

I got married here and it was excellent, hospitality was second to none, and when a wedding mishap happened (nothing to do with hotel, it was my florist!) the staff were straight on to it and helped solve the problem!
Food was amazing and let us tailor make our own menu!
A year on our guests still talk about the beautifull venue, the beautiful views. And the amazing day the belvedere helped to create.

“wonderful position but not gourmet food”

We have just had a pleasant weekend at the Belvedere. As noted by other reviewers the owners are very helpul, and everyone on the staff went out of their way to provide excellent service.
Our room had a wonderful view over the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh, but my aunt's, on th eground floor, looked out over a bush and the garden wall which was disappointing. The rooms were clean and adequately furnished, but the wallpaper, curtains and bed linens all had different patterns which spoiled the effect rather.
We ate in both nights, and I was disappointed. Their website promised gourmet food using local produce, but only the soup seemed home-cooked- the rest was bulk-buy freezer stuff served at pubs everywhere- breaded mushrooms, pate etc for starters, breaded scampi, butterfly chiken etc for mains. Puddings were even less exciting, being mainly icecream sundaes. The view from the dining-room was however amazing.
The Belvedere is however in a wonderful position for visiting Fife, and is good value. I would probably stay again, just for the views

“Superb service”

Stayed here to watch the Golf Open Championship at Carnoustie. The owner's and their staff could not have been more helpful, especially Michael, Jean and Tony. They were flexible in providing meals around us leaving early and getting back late. The food was excellent and the friendliness of the staff was superb. Great location for Golf courses including St Andrews and the owners are more than happy to arrange golf for you. Room was spacious and clean. Views from room and hotel over the water were lovely.
