“Break from the old routine!”

The Belvedere Hotel is situated in the small village of West Wemyss (pronounced Weems). It is positioned right on the Forth River (estuary) and stands opposite Edinburgh. The location is ideal for anybody wanting a break from the hustle and bustle of city life.

When I arrived I was immediately made to feel welcome by the owners who answered any questions I had and were well informed about the area/facilities/things to see. My room was decorated well and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The location of the hotel means that it is very easy to sleep at night. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and is plentiful with a lot of variety. I also eat main meals in the restaurant, which were of excellent quality. The portions were very generous. Seats are positioned outside on the lawn opposite the river so it is possible to eat alfresco on warm days.

The hotel is well located for anybody wishing to explore central Scotland, Edinburgh, Perth and Stirling were all accessible within an hour by car. The hotel is on the river and the Fife Coastal Path runs past it providing a lovely walk for those days when you don't want to travel too far.

I highly recommend this hotel for anybody who wants a break from city life as it represents the total opposite.

“Right by the Sea”

Situated a 15 minute drive from Kircaldy, located on the sea front of West Wymess is the Belvedere Hotel. There is little else in West Wymess of note but the hotel sits right on the Fife Coastal path and access to the pebbly beach is down a few steps at the front of the hotel.

The welcoming owners have clearly been giving this hotel a revamp since they took ownership of the Belvedere a year ago, with freshly decorated rooms and public areas.

We stayed with our 2 dogs in a room in a small building a few yards from the main hotel giving us instant access to outside avoiding having to take the dogs through the hotel. The room was a good size with comfy beds, tele, tea and coffee etc. - the bathroom had obviously been redone recently.

The rooms are very comfortable and clean and worthy of the star rating; but it is the food that stands out at the Belvedere. An excellent choice of menus from simple tasty bar food to more fancy main meals in the waterfront restauraunt. The food was well priced and of a high standard - worthy of a five star hotel. Breakfast was particularly good and with a price of £65 per room B&B you wont go far wrong at the Belvedere.

We would like to thank Mike , Jean & all their staff for a very pleasant stay. We went up to the hotel for a surprize for our cousin's 50th wedding dinner, from Somerset. The evening & the stay at this lovely Hotel was memorable for all of us, topped by the meals & the service, they have a very good chef producing the best of fare. One cant go wrong selecting this Hotel, the views from here are great , its peaceful & quiet, we would be very happy to return for a longer visit next time.

“What a fantastic place.”

We have just spent a weekend at the Belvedere, I have to day that this place is a hidden gem. The new owners Michael and Jane made us feel so at home, it was like we had known them for years. They have recently got a new chef who turned out some wonderful dishes. The hotel is very clean and tidy, the views are second to none and if your looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay, this is the place to go.
