We have just had a pleasant weekend at the Belvedere. As noted by other reviewers the owners are very helpul, and everyone on the staff went out of their way to provide excellent service.
Our room had a wonderful view over the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh, but my aunt's, on th eground floor, looked out over a bush and the garden wall which was disappointing. The rooms were clean and adequately furnished, but the wallpaper, curtains and bed linens all had different patterns which spoiled the effect rather.
We ate in both nights, and I was disappointed. Their website promised gourmet food using local produce, but only the soup seemed home-cooked- the rest was bulk-buy freezer stuff served at pubs everywhere- breaded mushrooms, pate etc for starters, breaded scampi, butterfly chiken etc for mains. Puddings were even less exciting, being mainly icecream sundaes. The view from the dining-room was however amazing.
The Belvedere is however in a wonderful position for visiting Fife, and is good value. I would probably stay again, just for the views
