Visiting for one night for a friends party. Got there early evening and we were warmly greeted by Liz and Jim. They made sure we were happy and settled but without any rush. This could have been it until the next morning but Liz made sure we got a lovely cup of tea and a Tunnocks Caramel (Its a Scottish thing!) just to be sure we were OK. Lots of interest shown in who we were and if we needed anything but not intrusive, just helpful.

We were shown how to get in if we wanted to come back late (which we did) but we managed to mess this up and woke the Family dog. This wasn't mentioned in the morning when we got our fantastic breakfast, just as we ordered it.

Jim then took the time to have a chat after we had finished eating and showed why this place is so well reviewed. Both Jim and Liz love what they do and it shows in the attention to detail.

We couldn't fault anything and would make sure we stay here if ever back visiting the area.

We spent 4 nights in this charming guest house for T-In-The-Park 2011, and it was p-e-r-f-e-c-t.
The room, the breakfasts, the rides the lovely owners gave us when we were running late for places, everything down to the smallest detail - top notch. Would definitely book a room there next time T-in-the-Park hosts the Arctic Monkeys.

Jim and Liz are the most wonderful family where we are coming every year, for the festival of Edinburgh but also for the pleasure to be there. We enjoyed mostly their warm and frienship reception and the succulent breakfast every day.
And Dumferline , a little out of the city is a nice place to stayn and quiet...

I was late to arrive at the guest house and didn't get there until around midnight - however both Liz and Jim were both still waiting up with a big, warm welcome; even at that time of the night.

The rooms were very homely, with everything you'd need, clean and comfortable and we filled out a questionnaire style breakfast menu.

The next morning, after a lovely night's sleep, Liz greeted us for breakfast at 7am (full face of make up, sprightly as a child!) and it was delicious. I've had breakfast in Scotland many times so my expectations were high! And they even had veggie sausages! Yum...

I was very impressed by the energy of the two owners; even though I knew they'd had hardly any sleep and the efficiency at which the whole guest house was run.
