Stayed here for one night (New Years Eve 2012).
Travelled with a group of friends and decided to stay in Dunfermline as all other Holiday Inn Hotels were full.
In all honesty I didnt expect much as I knew It was an Express, however, a decent nights sleep would have been nice.
Staff were miserable, breakfast was awful, Rooms were tired and the beds are probably the worst I have ever come across in a hotel.
Food is only offered Monday-Friday, However, the McDonalds/Asda right opposite the hotel do come in handy. The hotel bar is open until 11pm but if you ask nicely they will serve you after 11pm (depending on how the night manager feels).
Try to avoid staying here unless absolutely necessary.

Thank you for your comments and I am sorry to hear that we did not meet your standards of expectation. I am concerned to hear about the staff as they are usually a group of very cheerful individuals. I am also surprised to hear that they were miserable it seems genuinely out of character as you will see from previous comments this is not usually the case and I would like to apologise on their behalf
You didn’t explain what was awful about the Breakfast so I am unable to give comment.
Again I appreciate the comment regarding the beds however cannot reply because there is no explanation as to what the exact problem was with the bed. For your information we regularly replace all mattresses within the hotel which is a Holiday Inn Express brand standard.
In regards to the Hotel bar it is open from 12pm – 11pm for non residents but is open to residents only after 11pm, at the Night Managers discretion. We are happy to keep it open provided that levels of noise are comfortable for all guests within the hotel.
