Stayed here for one night (a Sunday) my girlfriend and I booked in for a romantic evening, got a king room, decor was nice, room was a good size, although the flatscreen tv was two small for the room when in bed you could not read the electronic program guide, not the biggest problem for a young couple (27/33) on a romantic night out. However the KING bed was actually two beds pushed together with one big duvet, this is a pet hate of mine if I book a double or a king I want a mattress that is just that, NOT Two singles zipped together!!! Room was generally very clean, but for one rather large "suspect" White stain on the throw that covers the bottom of the bed. Staff were efficient enough, but a smile and some eye contact would count as "hello welcome to rooms at 29 bruce street" instead of just "hi canna help ye" and when leaving how about thank you for your stay, instead of "go out the way you came in" as I was told when I tried to leave by the main double door by reception. The girl not even lifting her head from her desk, must have been a good Facebook post or something, she was reading. What's happened to some basic customer service? Breakfast was excellent, best full Scottish breakfast I've ate in any hotel in dunfermline, the quality of the components shone through, and cooked to perfection by the friendly chef. Don't remember the club noise being to intrusive. Overall not bad, just really the bed thing that would stop me booking again, for £69.00 I want to be cuddle up without falling down the uncomfortable split in the bed.
