“Fantastic Hogmanay Party”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

Went to the Hogmanay Party 31/12/11 at The King Malcolm lastnight with friends, it was a fantastic evening and brilliant value for money. £35.00 for a 3 course meal which was beautiful. There were Scottish singers singing all the old favouries, a piper, Scottish Country Dancer and a disco. The DJ played a whole range of music for the young and not so young the music was brilliant. A fab time was had by one an all whether it was the locals or the bus load from Teeside that were there. A big thankyou too to all the staff who worked hard and were all very friendly. HAPPY NEW YEAR

“Friendly Staff And A Huge Breakfast”

We were up for a friends graduation in the hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming and tthe room was lovely. The breakfast in the morning was huge and delicious. The graduation party which we attended was superb, everyone was well looked after including the kids and the buffet was very impressive. Both my partner and myself had a great time and we both agree that the barman Craig in the public bar made us feel welcome and helped uzs settle into the hotel and feel at home with the locals, he was a credit to the hotel.

Stayed here on business after usual hotel I use in the area was fully booked. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast a little hit and miss but other wise ok with nice welcoming staff. I would have no problems with going back.

“Never again”

Booked a family room and to say it was small is an understatement. One double bed and a single which took up the whole room (apart from a small space to get from the front door to the bathroom and that was with the beds pushed up against each other!).

Found hairs in the bathroom so spent the first part of my visit cleaning the bath before letting my daughter use it. Scattering of hairs around the floor in the bathroom as well so assuming it had not been hovered in a while! Actually wore a pair of shoes to go into the bathroom!

I could just about handle that when I pulled back my bed covers to find a clump of black and grey hairs. Nice. The bed was comfy enough but you found you were rolling into the middle as the springs were gone.

There was a door leading through to the room next door which was locked but meant you could hear every bit of noise coming from that room. Great when the guest has a chesty cough!!

Went to breakfast but was made to feel unwelcome and an inconvienience by the staff. I know it was early but a good morning or even a smile would have been nice! Breakfast was okay but don't expect brand name cereals. You could tell it was the cheapest of the cheap.

Will never stay here again. Rooms are dated, not worth the money and in need of a good clean.
