been staying at this hotel for three months .its friendly staff have took care of my stay .the choice of food and drink is good at great prices.iwork in the area and i no when im out my possessions are safe .i always return to aclean room.and well stocked tea and coffee bowl. always had clean towels.stocked toiletries.love the week ends when im there.you have the bar attached to the hotel .shops pubs clubs train and bus station on your door step. you cant get bored .breakfast is buffet ,from cereal to fry up and a member of staff to attend .so if its not there they do there ut most to get it .ive stayed and worked in many hotels and this ticks the boxes ,thanks to all the staff at the antonine.

I hope the Welsh Rugby fans who stayed here before the Scotland v Wales match on 12 February enjoyed the match as much as they enjoyed the ladies of the night from Falkirk. By the amount of noise they made and cries of "she's not worth a fiver" I don't think they did...

Positives: room was comfortable, bar staff were great.
Negatives: no hot water, morning reception staff rude and a 10.30AM check out!

Stayed to attend a party in the hotel. We had booked a double room when we checked in discovered it was a twin room with 2 x 2'6' beds. . Decided we would stay for convenience .. how bad could it be ..........The bathroom had a chipped bath, grotty mouldy shower curtain, mouldy seal around bath. The beds are the most uncomfortable that I have ever had the misfortune to try and sleep on . The bed linen did not fit and the valance sheet was ripped and tattered. Attempted to have a shower at 6 pm and there was no hot water. Both Windows had notices stuck on them with "Window not in use" printed on them. This was because the windows were broken and did not close properly.

Attended the party and had been told as we were residents we could use the bar when the party wound up. At 1am when the party finished we were surrounded by security and told to drink up. Advised we were residents and that we been told we could use the bar after the function room was closed. The manager was then called and he informed us that he had no such instruction from the owners and told us to take our drinks to our room! We asked if we could use a sitting room to allow us to be together. At this suggestion the 'manager' told us that he could refuse to serve me as I obviously had had too much to drink .. I had been drinking diet coke all night .. I never raised my voice and put my point over clearly and in a non threatening manner. In my opinion he was just grasping at straws and wanted us all in our rooms so he could finish for the night.

The breakfast was terrible .. the Dining Room was filthy. The cutlery, dishes and bain-marie were greasy and sticky. The table we were sitting at had been 2 tables pushed together and there was a line of grease and dust on the edges. It truly was disgusting.

When we checked out in the morning we challenged the receptionist about the bill she returned with the owner who really was a charming character. He told us he had a lost a Night Porter because of us .. We had never set eyes on the night porter. He told us that he could not provide a residents bar as they had to get their F**king sleep (at no time did any of our party swear or raise our voices to him) and clean the place .. this I know to be a joke as the place could really do with being dipped in Dettol.

We paid the bill and left. Avoid this establishment like the plague - sub standard accommodation, intimidating security staff and an owner who has no concept of customer care and really should get out of the business.
