“Nice place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Great place to stay and the owners we very nice. The room was big with a huge flat screen tv on the wall and modern bathroom. Two things that put me off a bit was that the internet didn't work in the room I had which was on the top floor twin rooom, and I though breakfast was going past 9am. The owner rang the room at 815am when we were sleeping to say that breakfast was over in 5 mins so we had to jump out of bed and rush down there not a good way to start the day. Other than that is was fine beds were actually comfortable for a change for B&Bs. There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel and there's 3 buses you can take to get you into the center about 15 min drive.

“A really comfortable, friendly hotel.”

Needed one at short notice to visit the hospital - ideal. But also good for walking around Craigmillar Castle, and good buses into town. Excellent breakfast; owner extremely helpful too. Will definitely stay again.

“A SHORT STAY AT AARON LODGE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

Just stayed at the Aaron Lodge for one night on a visit to Edinburgh visiting our Daughter and partner who have just moved to there new flat.
Dot was very helpful when we got there, after we parked up and settled into the room she gave us all the info on how to get down to Princes Street , what buses to get etc.The room which was No 2 was just lovely- bathroom very spacious, shower was walk in and the bed was enormous with large flat screen T.V on wall.Really well equipped.
Lovely big conservatory to have a meal in the evening but unfortunately we did not experience as the chef was on hols. (we will have to go back to experience that)but had breakfast there which was very nice and just enough giving a good choiceof cereal, fruit and cooked. Ted chatted to us at breakfast and made us feel very at home.
Both Dot and Ted made us feel very welcome.
Cost we felt was a very good price and we definately felt we got value for money. We would not hesitate to recommend friends and family to stay there, in fact definately encourage.
Look forward to going back later in the year . Thanks for a lovely stay

“Warm welcome, home from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

I stayed here whilst my husband was in the hospital nearby. I got a warm welcome, showed to my room (which was lovely- the bathroom was like something you would find in a 5* hotel!) Dot showed me around and then left me to get settled.
I felt more like I was staying with friends than at a B&B.
The bedroom was beautifully furnished and has contemporary touches like the huge TV and free wifi which makes it feels more like an expensive hotel.
The bathroom was marble tiled and had a huge walk in power shower which was divine.
Breakfast was a very relaxed buffet style choice of continental or cooked which you help yourself to and enjoy in the lovely conservatory dining room. Ted & Dot were always on hand to see that you were ok, and were just the warmest hosts! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this guest house to anyone. It's at a manageable price level but delivers far more than similar places of the same price.
A real gem!

Thanks for a lovely relaxing stay :)

“A short but lovely stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

I stayed in Aaron Lodge for one night whilst taking an exam at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. I hired a car and Aaron Lodge was incredibly easy to find only about 15mins from the airport. Dot and Ted were very welcoming on arrival and showed us to our rooms, which were lovely. There were complimentary robes and slippers as well as some lovely toiletries. They were extremely helpful when directing me into town and the bus stops right outside the lodge, which made life easier. Breakfast was a lovely buffet where you could eat as much as you liked and the food was yummy.
Aaron Lodge is a ten minute walk to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and a fifteen minute bus ride into the heart of Edinburgh. My boyfriend and I are hoping to have a long weekend away at Aaron Lodge next summer as I loved the place so much. Would definitely recommend a visit and not too badly priced either.

Room Tip: Its an old building so if you can get an upstairs room you don't have to listen to people walkin...
