“If you want a comfy nights sleep dont bother.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2010

turned up to the hotel , met by a very grumpy barman, shown the room with a few grunts and that was it. the room was very dated and tired, the bed was wobbly and uncomfortable. I did intend to eat here but when i went downstairs and got a whiff of the overused cooking fat smell it turned my stomach. sleep was terrible as the bar etc are very noisy, and at 5:30am the heating system starts banging and bubbling which woke me up . at leat the rooms were clean. I dont intend on ever returning and would advise anyone against it.

“Miserable and run down.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2010

We stayed here en route to pick my son up from university. When we arrived, we were asked to settle our bill immediately, before even seeing our room. The room had the most squeaky bed imaginable, and looked as though it had not been decorated for at least a decade. The bathroom had paper peeling off the ceiling, and the tap on the sink would not turn on, but just twisted around. There was no hot water.
On the positive side, the room was clean, and there was a plentiful supply of coffee sachets. However, after a sleepless, squeaky night I did not feel that this was anywhere near worth the £80 we were charged. We did not stay for breakfast, deciding to leave as early as possible. Very disappointing.
