Zandra Macpheson is a lovely lady, she made us feel very welcome. We stayed in the lairds room which, although in an Edinburgh town house, could have been in a castle in the north of Scotland. Excellent breakfast. Perfect central location.

Would have to agree with all the positive comments here. Sadly, I lost on the toss of a coin and ended up in the patio room, while my friend stayed in the Lairds! If you don't like this place you should stop traveling and stay at home. An ideal place to explore a magnificent city. Will definitely stay again

If you want to stay in a beautiful georgian home in a good location then look no further. It's a ten minute walk from Princes Street. The Laird's room with four poster bed more than lived up to my expectations. It is a fascinating house filled with wonderful portraits and antiques. The lavish breakfast is served in an atmospheric dining room and the two labradors were adoring and adorable whilst we enjoyed our relaxing surroundings. The ensuite roll top bath was in a room larger than most living rooms. We were made to feel so at home and I will definitely return. It is surprising how quiet it is at night considering this is a town location. I've never slept better!

Le creme de la creme. I stayed for 10 days in the twin room which has its own entrance which gave me the freedom to come and go as I pleased. The ancestral heritage is in full splendour and is a feast to the eye. Zandra is attentive, considerate and charming with a wealth of local knowledge can guide you to the best restaurants. Her breakfasts are simply divine so allow plenty of time to enjoy the experience soaking up the clan history in her elegant dining room. A rare treat.
