Aileen is a very good hostess. But one can get better accommodation in Edinburgh for less.
Things I did not like. No parking, no good views as the rooms are in the basement. Average breakfast.
If this was a rating for hostess this would rate high but not for comparable accommodation in Edinburgh for the price.

Just a 15 minute walk from the Royal Mile, The Victorian Town House will make you feel like a resident of Edinburgh! Spacious doesn't begin to describe the room, more like an apartment feeling. Large windows and a sofa with coffee table, the wonderful wardrobe and dresser, the fireplace with beautiful mantel, and comfy beds with pillows galore, and the best bathroom and shower area of our month long European tour! Guidebooks and candy with tea await you along with the much appreciated complimentary Scotch Whisky! Aileen is an instant friend and wonderful host. She will take your order for breakfast at 9:00 (get the full English fry up!) but, I recommend getting started on yogurt/fruit/cereal a few minutes before then to be sure you are finished with plenty of time to be out of your room by the 10:00 deadline so you can get your room serviced. We missed this one morning that we lingered too long at breakfast and didn't leave the room until 10:30, so no new shampoo for me that day. But, once you get the jump on things it really is perfection. Would definitely stay here again and hope to come back.

Outstanding room, excellent breakfast, near enough to everything, but tucked out of the way. The proprieter, Aileen, was so helpful that I cannot describe it. Both my wife and I felt welcome from the moment we arrived, and she helped us with taxis and travel details. Weleft totally impressed. There was just alittle street noise in the mornings, but it was minor. We loved it.

Not far from the city center this cosy B&B is situatet. Our host Aileen gave us a very warm welcome and was very helpful throughout our stay. The room was spacious and lovingly arranged. Nice breakfast with fruit, pancakes or full scottish.
In our opinion, The Victorian Town House is an ideal accomodation, both for short trips or for extended stays.
