“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

We stayed at Orocco Pier on a package of dinner bed & breakfast in January, 2012. From check-in to check-out it was excellent.
The room was lovely - with views of the two bridges from two large windows (room 15). Well furnished and comfortable with a great slate tiled bathroom - very large double-ended bath, huge walk-in shower and a window out to the same views as the bedroom. The only little quibble was that there was no door on the bathroom so any type of ablutions were open to the bedroom, which was five steps up from the bathroom - some type of door/partition would be a good addition.
The dinner in the Samphire restaurant was very good, including the service. Drinks are a bit pricey in the bar - which is also very busy at weekends - so we strolled along the High Street and sampled the local pub life.
Breakfast was great, in the Samphire again and served till 12 on the weekends ............overall we had a wonderful stay and would certainly go back again & recommend it to friends.

“Can't wait to go back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Managed to get a fantastic dinner bed & breakfast deal at the last minute. As my boyfriend was leaving to go to Afghanistan we were give a beautiful room with amazing views over the Firth of Forth & both the bridges. The room had a big bay window so we just closed the sides of the curtains and had a wonderful view of the bridges when the sun came up. A decent hair-dryer in the room too! Just a set of GHD's and it would be perfect! We found all the staff to be extremely pleasant & helpful. It was a lovely touch to be taken up to our room as well. The bar had a buzzing atmosphere and we had a excellent dinner in Samphire Restaurant in a lovely booth. Even better than that check out is at 11am but breakfast is served until 12 at the weekend! How civilised!! The girl who checked us in suggested that we check out at 11 and then go and get breakfast - just wonderful!! You don't get the normal Hotel choice of lots of cereal & fruit here which would be the only slightly disappointing thing - but we had a great cooked breakfast and were given a lovely table overlooking the bridges by Alison in reception as some friends came and met us for breakfast.
There is no car-park there but a public one just along the road and it is so easy to find when you come of the bridge!
We are definately coming back when is back on his 2 weeks R&R in 4 months time.
Well done Orocco Pier - your staff are a great asset to you!!!

“Blown Away”

A last minute booking for myself and my brand new fiancee to celebrate our engagement, we were torn between here and the Dakota on the outskirts of the village and we most definitely made the right decision.

We were welcomed straight away upon entering, even though the whole place was buzzing with early evening diners, and shown to our room. We were advised of check outs/breakfasts etc and any other info that was required. Upon discovering our new engagement, the receptionist asked if she could book us a private booth in the restaurant.

The room itself was immaculate, lovely bathroom and some lovely molten brown toiletries compliments of the hotel. The view from Room 2 was spectacular, looking right over the Firth of Forth, with a perfect view of the Rail Bridge and Inchcolme Island. We actually left the curtians open to watch the sun come up - breathtaking.

We decided not to leave the hotel due to the wild weather, and the hotel actually offers a complimentary guest DVD collection to which we made use - a brilliant touch I thought!

Breakfast was in the Antico restaurant - which has panoramic views of the river thanks to the contemporary design - and is served until 12pm which I LOVED. Spoke with the manager who could not have been more welcoming - due to the adverse weather conditions the Forth Bridge was closed and we could not drive back to Fife, and they offered us a later check out time - this was much appreciated!!! A special mention to Emma also, who dealt with a little hiccup most discreetly, and it was again appreciated.

Overall, a great stay in a hotel that offers far more personality and flexibility than a big chain - I will definitely be back and will be making enquiries to their wedding packages very soon!

Room Tip: Room 2 has the most spectacular view! Room next to it has a balcony also .

Stayed over on the New Year Package and had a great time. Dinner dance was good, dance floor very small but had a brilliant night. Food was good, staff excellent. Room was basic but did the trick. Great location as we did the loony dook and other in our party watched from the balcony. Spent another day and night and felt very festive and warmed by good company. Service was excellent, staff all very friendly and will be saving for our next New Year visit.

Room Tip: Our room was street facing but were not in it long - we mixed and mingled with others staying.
