“Lovely place, lovely breakfast and Great hosts :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

I've stayed here on many occasions when business takes me to Edinburgh - in fact, i wouldn't choose anywhere else. Clean, bright, lovely breakfast (lots of choice), LInda and Dave couldn't do better - so welcoming and helpful. No broadband when I was there - but free access in a mally hotel along the road - but I enjoyed the break instead! I stay in many B&Bs across the country and this one is the best I've ever been in. Really excellent. Thanks.

“Hospitality at its best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 May 2011

I tried to find my place somewhere comfortably close to the centre of Edinburgh and was surprised by the place I have found. I have stayed before in the Holiday Inn nearby but the personal approach and homely atmosphere makes me to prefer this B&B for my future visits to Edinburgh.

Whole place was well kept, clean and my room (with an attached bathroom) was nicely furnished and of course daily serviced. Communication with the property owners Dave and Linda was prompt and friendly from the very beginning of the reservation by mail to our personal meeting. I have been recommended a few places to dine out by them and the experience was awesome. The only thing I lacked was wireless internet connection, but I have appreciated free car parking and wide variety of breakfast items. Thank you for your hospitality.

“A delightful B&B.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2010

This was a lovely B&B and I thoroughly enjoyed staying here. After a series of hotel stays it was a real joy to stay in this haven. The single room at the back was cozy, beautifully presented and really comfortable. Dave and Linda are delightful, welcoming hosts who rustle up a superb breakfast with plenty to choose from. You really feel at home here and I would highly recommend this B&B. It is convenient for both Edinburgh airport and an easy bus ride into the city centre.

“Good B&B to use for Hogmanay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2010

Stayed with Dave & Linda for 3 nights over New Years to celebrate Hogmanay at Edinburgh's famous street party. We were charged a premium price for the triple room with a private bathroom which was to be expected at a busy time like this. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, and was serviced everyday. The room was a bit small with a double and single beds but not tiny and cramped. The bed was comfortable, TV worked well and the room was warm. There was no wireless internet, which is disappointing at this level of price and service. There is a computer downstairs with internet access available only to check emails.

The B&B is situated on a main thoroughfare into the city, which is a double edge sword. On one hand the buses are a few metres away and very regular. On the other hand the road noise can be quite loud (not helped by wet roads), even with the double glazed windows closed. There are shops and restaurants a short walk away.

Dave and Linda were very helpful, even making phone calls on our behalf to help when we hit a problem with the local banks (tip: ensure the branch has sufficient Bank of England notes before making a large withdrawal. The Scottish issued notes, although allegedly legal tender, are not generally welcomed in England). Dave & Linda are also very helpful when it comes to local information.

Breakfast is well cooked, but is only served between 0800-0900hrs, so no sleeping in! A good range of cereals, fresh fruit salad and cooked foods are available, including Black Pudding for those so inclined. I was a little disappointed not to see Haggis on the menu though.

Overall a good stay and served our purposes well. I recommend Glenlivet for people looking for a well serviced B&B.
