I stayed for three nights at the Adria House in the end of November. For those travelling alone and concerned with safety, Adria House is situated in a quiet yet well-lit neighbourhood close to the main attractions in Edinburgh. My room and the bathroom were immaculate, both from a cleanliness perspective and from the the level of detail that Edward and Maria took to preserving the heritage of the building. The breakfasts served were splendid (and a great source of energy to start your long walking day)! I would definitely stay here again.

Adria House is an elegant and comfortable guest house, in a great location - just behind Carlton Hill, and easy walking distance to the Holyrood Palace and Park and the Old Town. It's located on the Royal Terrace, an elegant cobbled street - my sister and I felt like we had stepped into an Austen novel!
Our room was very comfortable, spacious and cleaned every morning. The owners are lovely people - very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed the cooked breakfast each morning served in the beautiful dining room.
Adria House is also great value for money, given its prime location - accommodation in the heart of Edinburgh seems to be quite expensive. We stayed three nights at Adria House and would definitely stay there again.

We stayed for two nights at the Adria House last week and it was very, very pleasant. The hotel is spotless, very well situated (we walked all over Edinburgh directly from the hotel) and the two hosts, Maria and Edward were perfectly delightful. They helped us with any request and were great fun to chat with about Scotland and Edinburgh. Alas, my only concern was that there was no phone in the room...we did not bring a cellphone from the U.S. -- The hotel is on Royal Terrace...it's a Georgian design house that they have beautifully updated down to the woodwork!
