My husband and I stayed here for two nights. The room and bath were very clean and nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful with restaurant and sight suggestions. We had to leave early in the morning to go to the airport and the hosts packed us a breakfast and arranged for a taxi. It is about a thirty minute walk into the historic district or you can take the bus (the stop is across the street). We would definitely stay there again.

A bed and breakfast that provides everything you could need at extremely good value. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms, and everything you need (eg TV, free wifi). Huge choice for breakfast. Very well placed for the centre of Edinburgh (on frequent bus route or a healthy stroll), and just 5 minutes walk from the University.

We wanted to stay in Edinburgh for only one night to visit the newly renovated National Museum in Chamber street and see the Christmas lights. We chose the Highfield base on the recommendations on trip advisor and it's convenient location (close to the city centre and easy to find off the by-pass). We weren't at all disappointed it was as the reviews stated. The hosts we very friendly and the guest house had a warm atmosphere. We were given a large family room which was tastefully decorated and had comfortable cosy beds. The breakfast was cooked to a very high standard and there was a large choice of cereals and fruit. There was a nice selection of toiletries. We would definitely recommend the Highfield Guest House and would stay there again if we ever visit Edinburgh.
