“Would book again!”

My husband and I decided on a last minute trip to Edinburgh for Hogmanay and found the Lauderville by chance on a search engine. We were able to park easily and free (centre parking is £4.80 for 2hrs!) and had an en-suite to the rear of this beautifully restored building. Although the room was on the small side (as was the en suite) it was spotless. Being a bit faddy over this sort of thing I tend to double-check and it was probably the cleanest room I've ever stayed in ! My only grumble was that there didnt appear to be any water-pressure to the electric shower leaving me having to dance around to get wet! Yvonne, the owner immediately offered use of their bathroom on the 1st floor and it was checked that day by the plumber but was unable to be improved upon but they did all they could to rectify the issue. Breakfast was lovely. Fruit, croissant, cereals or full scottish (vegetarian haggis a must), scrambled eggs&smoked salmon. All tasty and cooked to perfection by Brian. Location-wise it is about a 15minute walk into the centre with buses running regularly for £1.20 a pop or £3 for an all day ticket. Overall, very good service, clean and well situated. We would be happy to stay again.

“Relaxing, beautiful, clean, amazing breakfast...wonderful weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

I stayed here with my partner recently for the weekend starting October 8, and would definitely stay here again.
The room and en suite were spotless. The bed was extremely comfortable with an amazing array of pillows. Simon cooked an excellent breakfast, would really recommend the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.
The whole hotel was clean, tidy, stylishly restored and really did help to make the weekend.
There is a slight walk to get into the city, but bus no. 42 really helps, very regular service.
Because the hotel was not in the city it did mean that there was no street noise, which meant a lovely night's sleep.
I would definitely recommend, worth every penny.

“Nice place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2010

This guest house is very clean, the owners are friendly and helpful and the breakfasts excellent. There is a pretty little garden where guests can sit. There's a good 'bus service into the city, otherwise it's quite a long walk. Our room was comfortable but a little cramped & the ensuite was tiny although the owners had done their best to make good use of the space available.

“Friendly service and convenient for town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2010

We found Lauderville guest house on the internet at quite late notice and booked up based on some decent reviews on Trip Advisor and not much else.
It was in a nice part of Edinburgh about 20 minutes walk from the Royal Mile and had a couple of nice pubs nearby. The room was nicely decorated and in good repair, small but very cleverly decked out and some nice touches. (ipod dock, digital radio etc).
Our hosts were helpful and offered free internet access and all the fringe guides etc so we could stuck in straight away. There are a few parking spaces at the back of the property which is locked each night and also free on street parking so no problems there. The breakfast was decent enough without being remarkable.
I would definitely consider staying here again if I was up in Edinburgh again.
