We regularly visit Edinburgh over the festive season, staying usually at Waterfront Apartments in Leith. This time, we tried Fountain Court. Being only 10 minutes walk we felt it would be better than driving into Edinburgh City Centre and having trouble parking. Our 5 year old managed this walk with no problem. The Apartments are nice with enough facilities/equipment. Our main gripe is that, despite arriving early and being allocated a room early by the very friendly and helpful reception staff, the room looked out onto a building site rather than the canal. Also, arriving on the Sunday, parking was free on the road. However, be aware that the traffic Nazis are ruthless and commence their duties at 8.30...even around a back street I got a ticket for not paying and displaying, despite being at the car by 8.50. Merry Christmas. When we drove through the City, we noticed the wardens were out in force over that end of the City and they looked very busy - a veritable money-spinner for the Council that makes the £8 car park fee seem reasonable. The apartment was canny but will be heading back to Leith next year.

I frequently visit our Edinburgh office, and after a couple of years trying the usual nearby hotels (Hilton, Sheraton, etc.) have settled on the excellent Edinburgh Quay apartments. Very peaceful, great amenities and a view of the Union Canal.

Stayed in a lovely apartment for two nights with a group of friends! We loved it,so modern,plenty room. Bedrooms were spacious,comfy beds! Big bathroom all very modern with all toiletries provided,we loved that you could put your ipod in downstairs and it would play all through the apartment,even in the shower :)

The apartments are so central that we walked into Edinburgh and walked back after our night out.

Totally loved these apartments and would stay again!

I've been traveling Europe for the past 3 months and had a chance to spend 5 days in Edinburgh with my partner. The Fountain Court was the perfect place for a quiet, romantic reunion. The apartment is fully stocked with everything you'd need to cook together and enjoy a night in after a day of wandering and is near two grocery stores. Given how expensive meals are in Edinburgh, this is always a nice option. Because of the size of the apartment, you could comfortably fit a family.

The only issue we ran into was the night of November 5th, unfortunately the group above decided it was a great place for an after party, blaring music from 4am until close to 6am. Despite calling the "land lord" the music was still pretty loud. Other than that, it was a great stay :)
