Just back from Edinborough and we stayed in the Glenallen for 2 nights (its too long a story) but anyway I would agree with most of the other travellers who stayed there. Rooms were nice on this occasion and in fairness we were put up at short notice having been given the runaround by another hotel group. Scottish breakfast was charming to say the least without the meat although it was advertised. A smile costs nothing and a simple hello you are welcome and goodbye we hope you enjoyed your stay wouldn't go amiss either and inform people of your style or lack of it of cooking either.
