We stayed here for the second time the week before Xmas and it was every bit as pleasant an experience as the first time we stayed 12 months earlier. I don't really have a bad thing to say about this place, it has it's policies and house rules just like any other establishment and you should be glad of them as that's why the place continues to be immaculately clean and a pleasant place to be. It seems that the very few bad reviews about the place involve eating takeaway food in the rooms, playing loud music and generally not looking after the place during the stay. The rules are there for a reason, you cannot expect to stay in a place as well maintained and clean as this and be allowed to eat take aways and risk staining and wrecking the place, it's common sense and if you don't like it go to a lesser establishment that will allow it and isn't maintained to such high standards. I consider the hosts very accomodating and pleasant to deal with and talk to. The beds are extremely comfortable, the breakfasts excellent and the level of decor and cleanliness above and beyond any other guesthouses I have stayed in and I have stayed in many. We will be back when in Edinburgh again and the Amaragua continues to have my highest recommendation and regard,
