“First Class”

We stayed here for the second time the week before Xmas and it was every bit as pleasant an experience as the first time we stayed 12 months earlier. I don't really have a bad thing to say about this place, it has it's policies and house rules just like any other establishment and you should be glad of them as that's why the place continues to be immaculately clean and a pleasant place to be. It seems that the very few bad reviews about the place involve eating takeaway food in the rooms, playing loud music and generally not looking after the place during the stay. The rules are there for a reason, you cannot expect to stay in a place as well maintained and clean as this and be allowed to eat take aways and risk staining and wrecking the place, it's common sense and if you don't like it go to a lesser establishment that will allow it and isn't maintained to such high standards. I consider the hosts very accomodating and pleasant to deal with and talk to. The beds are extremely comfortable, the breakfasts excellent and the level of decor and cleanliness above and beyond any other guesthouses I have stayed in and I have stayed in many. We will be back when in Edinburgh again and the Amaragua continues to have my highest recommendation and regard,

Thank you so much for taking the time to review us.
It is so refreshing to see that so many of our guests recognise and appreciate what we are trying to do, which is offer a relaxing , comfortable, quite and clean accommodation with a good breakfast. We have been trying hard to better ourselves and what we offer for the past 10 years and we will continue to do so for the next 10.
We look forward to seeing you again next year, have a peaceful Christmas.

“as good as ever”

This was our third long weekend away staying at AmarAgua with Dawn Ann and Tony and it was as good as ever the rooms are well kept and decorated to a very high standard as well as been nice and warm when you come in after a day out in the cold shopping .Breakfast is always well cooked and well presented with plenty of choise for all tastes. The hotel ia idealy situated for going into the town you dont need to use the car as the bus is at the bottom of the road and fares are reasonable. I would never have a problem in recomending AmarAgua to any one as i know they would be pleased with their stay.

Room Tip: We like room three it is facing the road but is always quiet the room is well decorated with four p...

“A Jewel in Edinburgh”

The delightful hospitality and thoroughly charming accommodations at this B&B exceeded all our expectations. Tony and Dawn Ann Costa are extremely warm and helpful to the guests and the breakfasts were so beyond the usual 'breakfast buffet'. The food was outstanding and our room was lovely and comfortable. When we travel, we prefer the B&B experience to a hotel. Our stay at the AmarAgua confirmed this preference and we rate this as one of our favorites.

We stayed at Amar Aqua this past weekend. The room was spotless and very comfy, breakfast was delicious and Tony and Dawn -Ann absolutely lovely. There is a good bus connection to town but since the weather was so good we walked to town. Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable - we will be back soon,
C and J

“Good location - great breakfast selection - great hosts”

This B&B had one of the most extensive breakfast selections I have seen. We were there for 4 nights and tried all of them and each was uniformally good. Tony and Dawn Ann are very friendly and helpful hosts and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The location is convenient for restaurants as there are many of them only a few blocks from the B&B. It is a bit of a distance to central Edinburgh, but there is excellent bus service only a block away which takes you into the city centre.
