Had a single room with views over the garden and the sea, which looked like a winter wonderland due to loads of snow. At night the soft splashing of the waves could be heard, which was really nice. The room and the bathroom were tidy, clean and comfortable with cosy window seats. The owners were very nice and had no issue with me arriving very late in the evening. Would stay there again any time, highly recommended. I liked the selection of fresh fruits for breakfast.

If you want a great place to stay that is near Edinburgh but also near the water, try this great B&B. The four of us wanted easy access to Edinburgh, but wanted to avoid driving in the city. Joppa Turrets is along an easy bus line - which we used to explore the city. The service at the B&B was great - and pubs and restaurants werewithin easy walkng distance. Great view, great owners, and great conversation.

This is one of the friendliest guset houses that we have stayed in. It is clean and well kept, the owners are very friendly and make you feel at home. The food is excellent and plentiful with a wide choice. It is located on the prominade and beach it is very quiet at night and has the benefit of the soothing sound of the sea.
It is easy access to Edinburgh by bus at the top of the road costing just £1.20p for the 20 to 30 minute ride into the centre of Edinburgh. The bus costs £1.20 regardless of distance and no change is given so have the exact fare ready.
I have no hesitation in recommending this to friends and family we shall certainly stay there again when visiting Edinburgh.

Stayed at the Joppa Turrets for 4 nights from 20th Aug 2010, 1st class hosts and the breakfasts were brilliant (Anne I'll have the full works for breakfast). Good bus service to get into Edinburgh. Exactly what we expected after reading previous reviews. Will certainly be returning.
