“Great hostel in the center of Edinburgh!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

This hostel was wonderful, the staff was very helpful and everything was clean. The location was the best part, a stone's throw from the Royal Mile. They offer pretty cheap food, which is fine for breakfast. It was noisy one of the nights I stayed there, but I think that is to be expected in a hostel. They offer a lot of events in the hostel and good information about what there is to do in the town. I would stay here again!

“Wonderful Stay! Highly Recommend!”

I stayed here about a year ago with my brother and his girlfriend. It was absolutely amazing and the best hostel experience that I've had. Everyone who worked there was very friendly. The place itself was colorful and bright and felt like you were living in a college dorm. It was clean and had just what you needed. It was afterall a hostel, so don't expect anything super fancy. There is internet but its a little twitchy at times. I had to go to the common rooms and lobby to really get it going.

The only troublesome thing about it would be the bathroom area. I stayed there a little less than a week in two different rooms. The second time we moved, it was on a different floor so I had to use another bathroom that I wasn't completely familiar with. I showered and then once I left, a man came in and did his business which COMPLETELY took me off guard. I thought I had entered a women's only facility. Just note that there are MANY unisex bathrooms for those who are uncomfortable with the idea. This bathroom was right next to my room and the women's one was a floor away. I made a note to myself to take the extra steps to the women's room next time around and check the signs carefully!

This hostel may take a little bit of searching to find but it has a great location thats a bit of a walk from Edinburgh's busy areas.

“Needs some maintenance”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

The hostel was very good to stay at with very helpful people. The daily tours and the pub crawl help to meet all different people staying there.

The only thing that we didn't like is the heater wasn't working in the room and the toilet was so small my knees were touching the wall when I sat on the toilet.

Room Tip: Don't stay in room 5/1 or 5/2 as the toilet is tiny. I'm assuming that all numbers on that l...

“good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

We stayed at this hostel at the end of december 2011. Nice Christmas decorations! The staff was really enthousiastic and very friendly. Our room was giant, we stayed at the 20 dorm so it was rather noisy but very clean, bright and colourful.
The chill out room is really nice, a lovely sofa and a big tv screen. The bar/lounge downstairs was also very nice to be and we won some beer in the wednesdaynight quiz.
The location is also ideal is you want to explore the city of Edinburgh, because it's very central.
