We stayed there for one night only as were impressed with the hotel and facilities. Normally we use the hilton and fancied a change, Barcelo resorts might be the new thing. The staff are friendly and very helpful, the rooms were very well maintained(with a upgrade to superior room making it even better), the bar very spacious with comfortable surroundings, the breakfast restaurant high quality and the pool and steam room etc excellent!! i would recommend this to all types of travellers, ideally located in the centre of Edinburgh, 2 mins from the train station, 5 mins from walk for the nearest entertainment with restaurants on your doorstep.

Our room was just lovely and in the perfect location for seeing the city. Spa was a bit disappointing... in need of a makeover. This didn't ruin our trip since we just used it the once, but if I'd paid specifically for a spa break I'd have been a bit gutted.

We arrived well before our check in time of 2pm, and I expected to be told that our room wasn't ready. However, as soon as I gave my name, I was told our room was available, given directions to where it was, times of breakfast, asked if we wanted to book a table for dinner, and also told about the Spa facilties. My daughter (who is 10) was desperate to order room service, which we did, and I was promised that our dinner would be with us within 25 mins. 20 mins later our dinners arrived, and it was fantastic, the quality of the food, the presentation, and the friendliness of the girl who brought it. Everyone in the hotel made us feel welcome, and my daughter loved it that much (especially the staircase) that she didn't want to go home. Thank you so much to everyone who made this a very special weekend.

I stayed here overnight on a business trip to Edinburgh and was very impressed by the standard. The receptionist was extremely pleasant and helpful and, although I arrived earlier than expected, I was given a lovely room with a great view ovwer the city. The restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good and the bar area was spacious with waiter service. Breaklfast was really nice and again the staff were great. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Great stay.
