“Perfect place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

It is hard to think of anything new to say about Gerald's Place, but then maybe that is a good thing! We were greeted at the door and from that moment on we felt most welcome. The room was very comfortable with every possible need anticipated. I especially enjoyed climbing into the big bathtub after a long day of travel and sightseeing. I was pleasantly surprised to find a lavender bath gel to take the relaxation to a new level. We were slightly disappointed to learn that Gerald was off on his own vacation but we were in the very capable care of Justyna.
We thoroughly enjoyed making her acquaintance. We hope to plan another trip to Gerald's place soon.

“Forget 5 star hotels - stay with Gerald”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

What a fantastic B&B. It's an excellent location from where you can walk to all the major attractions in the old and new town. The rooms are extremely comfortable, warm and beautifully decorated. It is the attention to detail that really stands out - each room even has it's own laptop! However, the real X Factor is Gerald himself. It was like coming to stay with your favourite uncle. Gerald is both interesting and interested, a joy to spend time with. 5 stars isn't enough.

“Best B & B ever”

Its all been said before, but Geralds place is just the best B & B experience ever. Gerald is a wonderful man who met me at the door on a wet and very windy day with a kiss and I immediately felt welcome. Gerald knows what it is B & B users want and our 2 night stay was delightful. The rooms have every amenity you could possibly want and some you would not have thought of. It is the interaction with Gerald and his other guests that makes the stay so enjoyable. Easy walk to most attractions and in a very attractive location. Clean and cosy and the bed was divine.
The best B & B in the world so far. Thank you Gerald.

“The best Hogmanay ever!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

It's very difficult to find anything new to say about Gerald's Place - it has all be said before! However, I would like to repeat everything once again. Gerald is the most wonderfully hospitable host I have ever met. My husband, my sister and brother-in-law and I have just spent an amazing five nights over Hogmanay with Gerald. It is much more like staying with an old friend (although with far better accommodations). The breakfast each morning was so varied and wonderful that lunch was not an option! Gerald knows just about everything about Edinburgh and is so helpful that it's like having a talking guidebook. The rooms have everything you could possibly want - and far more than I have ever experienced in any 5 star hotel. The beds are so comfortable, the toiletries provided unbelievable and there is even a laptop in each room and free wifi if you want to use your own. It is a very short walk to Princes Street and everywhere is easily accessible. On top of everything else, Marie deserves a special mention for keeping everything immaculately clean and yet she always has time for a chat. I cannot recommend Gerald's Place highly enough - it has to be experienced to be truly appreciated.

“Gerald, Gerald, Gerald”

It is often said of property that 'Location, location, location' is everything. This B and B certainly has that with it;s easy access to train transport and the airport terminal the shop, the views. It also has comfortable rooms and bath plus a truly outstanding breakfast. Other fine B an B's may have these features too but they don't have Gerald This gentleman is a fount of helpful knowledge and will do everything to make your Edinburgh stay a fine memory.
